Perhaps Obama was privy to more information from the inside, Gates and Fauci and others, than Trump was?

It didn't happen in Florida. Because they have a competent Republican governor.

    Florida population: 21.48 million
    COVID deaths in Florida: 2,233
    Florida COVID death rate: 0.0104%

    New York population: 19.45 million
COVID deaths in New York: 23,382
New York COVID death rate: 0.1197%

Conclusion: New York COVID death rate 11.5 times higher than Florida.

Perfect real world example of how Democratic governance costs lives.

Let's be honest, California is NOT in a lockdown situation. This, as of April:

Californians are still allowed - and encouraged - to get outside for fresh air and exercise. Park and beach closures vary at the local level, but the state is updating a running list of permitted outdoor activities, which can be found here. A few examples of permitted BMX biking, canoeing, cycling, rock climbing, crabbing, trampolining and walking the dog. See the full list of varied activities on the California COVID-19 website.

    Germany population: 82.79 million
    COVID deaths in Germany: 8428
    Germany's COVID death rate: 0.0001018%

    USA population: 327.2 million
COVID deaths in the US: 100,021
    USA's COVID death rate: 0.003057

Conclusion: USA's COVID death rate 30.03 times higher than Germany

You documented nothing and refuse to realize what Florida has done.

You ignore such because it doesn't support your narrative.

I certainly did. For both Illinois and FLA.

Only a month ago, hospitals were eager to send elderly patients back to their long-term care facilities when they were still positive but no longer needed hospitalization. The facilities fought back, resisting re-admission until the residents were healthy and leaving the seniors caught in the middle.

“I have been asked by the Hospital Association again to talk to you about not sending asymptomatic cases to the hospital,” Deborah Franklin with the Florida Health Care Association, an advocacy group for nursing homes, said at the time during a meeting between state health officials and nursing home operators. At the time, the hospitals were not getting paid by the federal government at a higher rate for these patients.

Hillary Clinton thanked Andrew Cuomo for ‘responsible decisions to keep people safe’ in crisis

    https://www.bizpacreview.com/2020/0...ecisions-to-keep-people-safe-in-crisis-925743

A recent analysis by The Associated Press found that at least 4,300 coronavirus-infected patients were sent to nursing homes following Cuomo’s March order:

AP compiled its own tally to find out how many COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals to nursing homes under the March 25 directive after New York’s Health Department declined to release its internal survey conducted two weeks ago. It says it is still verifying data that was incomplete.

Whatever the full number, nursing home administrators, residents’ advocates and relatives say it has added up to a big and indefensible problem for facilities that even Gov. Andrew Cuomo — the main proponent of the policy — called “the optimum feeding ground for this virus.”

Oh ... someone who likes this BS of Conspiracy Theory because of Bill Gates to Corona etc.? Really?

I'd rather say that Obama reacted better, faster, and more effectively to swine flu than the fool who currently lives in the White House. Why? Because Obama didn't play the smart-ass and know-it-all like Trump AND listened to the scientific experts ... for example the CDC ... and took the right measures accordingly!

You now have around 99,000 confirmed deaths from COVID-19 in the US ... the last epidemic / pandemic that caused so many deaths in such a short time in the United States was the "Spanish flu" at the end of WW-1!
Outside the "Trump is the best and I believe him every BS" world, this is generally called a total failure of those responsible ... responsible here is the guy with the weird hairstyle on his head in the White House.

    Well ....

    Source:
    https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6

    UNITED STATES:
About 325 million inhabitants (+/- a few hundred thousand, depending on the source) and nearly 1.7 million confirmed infection cases with nearly 99,000 deaths.

    EUROPE:

The worst European country in matter of cases and death is UK with nearly 67 million inhabitants, nearly 267,000 confirmed infection cases with about 37,000 deaths
The second worst European country is Spain with nearly 47 million inhabitants, about 236,000 confirmed cases and with 27,000 death
The third worst European country is Italy with about 60 million inhabitants, about 231,000 confirmed cases and with nearly 33,000 death
Number four is France in Europe with 67 million inhabitants, nearly 183,000 confirmed infections and with 29,000 death
Number five is Germany with 83 million inhabitants, about 181,000 confriemd cases and about 8,000 death.

These 5 have in total 324 million inhabitants ... so about the same numbers as the US for make a comparison. In total they have 1.1 million confirmed cases with 134,000 death.

By pure digits you are right ... more death, BUT:

On the one hand you can play with numbers wonderfully and on the other hand you have to ... if someone is interested in real facts ... dig deeper into the matter to understand the connections.
On the one hand, these 5 European countries are independent nations. This means that each country has its own way of dealing with the virus AND also has its own circumstances and requirements ... i.e. the national health care system. For example, the UK was known to be even more relaxed with COVID-19 - keyword: pack immunity - as the US and did practically nothing at the beginning. This avenges itself as you can see from the pure numbers.
It is also a known fact that the health systems in the UK, Italy and Spain are rather poorly positioned, mainly because they have been the target of government austerity measures in the past ... which was also avanging.

Others like my country Germany have done better... and I'm not saying that now because I'm German. There are many reasns why and one is that our national health system was not such a target of austerity measures and so was better prepared, also organizationally, politically or also in matters such as the number of ICU beds per 100,000 inhabitants etc. Here, I have to admit, a great satisfaction ... because what did I have here in this forum e.g. discussions about Obamacare get a shitstorm about our health system ... but whoever laughs last laughs best!

Therefore we play with the numbers in comparison USA - Germany

Infection rate of the population in percent:
USA: 328 million people, 1.7 million of whom are infected = 0.52%
Germany: 83 million inhabitants, of which 181,000 are infected = 0.22%

Share of deaths in the population and death rate of infected people:
    USA:
    328 million inhabitants, of which 99,000 dead = 0.03%
    1.7 million infected, of which 99,000 died = 5.83%
    Germany:
    83 million inhabitants, including 8,000 deaths = 0.01%
    181,000 infected, of which 8,000 died = 4.42%

About 25% of COVID deaths in the USA happened in New York, which is run by an incompetent Democrat who forced nursing homes to accept patients infected with COVID.
