    We have a young man in the neighborhood, who last year joined the high school marching band. He spent last year learning how to play the trumpet. It was torture at times but we understood it takes practice to get good.
    Yesterday I was outside. I heard him perfectly playing taps on that trumpet, I got goosebumps listening. Ill never forget it.

    So far all is good. Even the rain is welcome today and yesterday.
    I saw a blip on the mobile screen about the hurricane season. I am not ready to think about hurricanes.
    I am hoping we are seeing the tail end of covid19.

    There are some songs that bring tears to your eyes and taps is one of those. Like the national anthem, and another that really give me goosebumps "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." Not to mention any of John Phillip Sousa's marches.

    When someone passed away and my mom and I went to church for the service and blessing, we always sat together. My mom had the tissues and the tissues would come out for these songs. She wouldnt say a word. Just nudge me with a tissue in her hand, like take it, you're gonna need it. lol We always needed it.


    The only requests my mom had right before she passed away was, dont embalm me. Bury me in my nightgown with daddy and ask a friend of ours who is an opera singer to sing this song at her church service.
    I was sitting with my brother in the pew and was totally overwhelmed when I heard the organ start that I stopped breathing. I had to remind myself to breath.

    I think I did very good just now... the most darling little Mexican woman (actually 27 years old) hot and dressed to show it.. and I didn't ogle or act like a fool (or at least I don't think I did), (The exposed midriffs usually leave me dumbfounded.)

    I got barred from a dive strip bar that I never went to. lol
    I loaned a friend my car. She was drunk in the dive bar and hit on the owners husband. I had no idea until my friend who owned a near by bar called me and asked what was going on and how drunk was I to hit on that *******. Not this brunette and I let someone borrow the car. But everyone thought it was me until I went in the bar to straighten it out. I didnt and dont hit on someones old man and I didnt and dont, visit strip bars. Both not my things to ever do. I respect relationships and if I want to see a half naked woman, Ill go stand in front of the mirror.

    Once I went into a neighborhood bar that was not a strip bar until it was and I didnt know it. Im at the far end of the bar waiting for some friends and some broad walks in the back door. She was wearing some lacy awful looking thing and I thought, I wonder if the bartender is going to ask her to leave. She gets up on the bar and I was shocked. Totally shocked. She's down the end of the bar with a few guys looking up her lacy awful looking thing and then....she walks down towards me. Now Im thinking oh no. Please, lady I have absolutely no interest in this and dont come near me. Im skeeving you. Go play with the boys in the corner. So I start looking at the vending machines and can feel myself turning red.
    Edit to add.
    I finished my beer before I left. lol

    The local dive I used to patronize had bra drives for the owner sometimes. All the women in the club would remove bras (the way only women can) while sitting on barstools and throw em at Scott. He'd tack em up around the bar. Fun times.... you had to be there! ;)

    NEVER lend your car, it can cost you so much more than even the value of the car.. for example.. just did a quote and the thing kept doubling on me at the last phase.. finally asked the guy if he had any accidents of tickets and he first said no.. them he confessed that his niece had an accident with it.. doubled HIS premium! So one kills someone while driving a car you lent them.. you will and your insurance company will be sued.
    ok.. enough preaching from the insurance agent.

    Great advice for sure.
    Yeah I was so mad. I was letting her borrow the car for work for a few days. Little did I know she drove it drunk. That's what really made me so mad. The other stuff was the side show. We parted ways after that and I learned my lesson.

    Just what in the heck is going on with all of these teenage girls? Every time that someone tells me to listen to some teenage girl, I get blown away. I'm sure that you're not allowed to tell me, but I know that you all are forcing them to drink some secret elixir.

    Of all of the ones that I heard, this one takes the cake. She's not even performing here. She does play violin and piano well enough to perform in big halls, though.

    Here, she is only the composer. I don't think that it's great, but it's definitely OK. Can you imagine how insanely complicated it is to write each note that all of the different instruments are to play?

    Very impressive, esp for such a young woman. No doubt her parents played a big role in developing her gift. It's like this bossy aunt tried to tell her niece... push your daughter to excel in something besides Natl Cheerleader competitions. How about investing that $10k a year in piano lessons or something she'll have for the rest of life?! Didn't listen to wise aunt and today that kid has a BS degree, arthritis and works as a food server. Can't play a note on piano or nothing else, much less compose. Should've listened to auntie. ;)
