this is sensationalism by the media and medical industry, they are combining flu deaths with other illnesses and packaging it into this for more taxpayer handouts.

they are blaming china because they know Americans will not go to war with a nuclear power.

Per WHO, the seasonal influenza infects over 1 billion people annually with up to 650,000 deaths and yet, we shut down the world economy down with a extremely suspect 360,000 worldwide deaths?

More Doctors are coming out daily as the data is now very relevant as we've gone hyperbolic with EVERYTHING!

Setting aside the obvious fallacy that goes along with pretending that the world is magically going to stop at 360,000 deaths...

The deaths and infections from Influenza are expected and built into the calculation. The deaths and infections from Covid-19 were completely unexpected and we had no antivirals, treatments, or vaccines for this novel virus. We also had almost zero data and the data that we did/do have says that this virus is both more infectious and more deadly that the seasonal influenza.

    That's why we shut down.

We still have no vaccine for MERS or SARS1 and these were WAY more deadly viruses than that of COVID-19. The data is proving that there is ulterior motives afoot here as mortality rates among young adults is less than 1/10th of a percent with nearly all of the deaths that occurred to have comorbidities. The problem still lies with the reporting of COVID deaths as the accuracy of these calculations are now being called into question. The data is out there and yet many are using this event for political means at the expense of millions of peoples livelyhoods. That's the shameful part of it!

    Rethinking COVID-19 Mortality Statistics

    COVID-19 Statistics

There are two fundamental points often ignored when referring to “the death toll from COVID-19.”

    • There is no evidence or proof offered by any scientist, pathologist, or virologist that confirms COVID-19 as the “cause” of death in the certification process.
    • An expanded definition of a “COVID-19 death” was enacted by the CDC on March 24th, to include probable cases. This conflates and clusters test results creating a source of both under and overestimation. “COVID-19 deaths are identified using a new ICD-10 code. When COVID-19 is reported as a cause of death or when it is listed as a ‘probable’ or ‘presumed’ cause, it is coded as UO7.1 This can include cases with or without laboratory confirmation.” [emphasis added]

SARS and MERS are not nearly as contagious as Covid-19.

And if you counted Influenza deaths in the same way as Covid-19, then the deadliest year on record for the seasonal flu killed around 15,500 people.

Nor is COVID as nearly contagious as influenza. Again, 1 billion annually with 3-5 million severe cases worldwide while as of 05/28/2020 COVID has reported nearly 5.9 million cases with 53,000 considered severe.

Regarding your second statement, not exactly sure what wizardry you are deriving?

Covid-19 is definitely more contagious than the seasonal influenza. The fact that it has not reached the same numbers as the Influenza virus is because Covid-19 is brand new and has not had decades to spread and re-spread around the world.

And I am referencing this "wizardry."

If flu deaths were counted like COVID-19 deaths, the worst recent flu season evidently killed 15,620 Americans

Trump has called the deaths due to the corona virus a success?[IMG] Probably half of the deaths or more could have been prevented, had Trump acted sooner to address the corona virus/so called hoax?!!

If memory serves, 105,000 Americans had already died from the virus before the protests began.

Social distancing and wearing masques does help prevent the spread. It has worked in other countries where they have been strict and exacting in doing this. In the US, too many people have not taken the problem seriously enough, and much of the reason for that is Drumph's own words and behavior. Where I am, which is a politically conservative area, when we go out, wearing masks, we find at least half, if not more, of the people not wearing them. Why? Because Drumph and conservative media have projected the idea that they are not necessary and that the virus is a Democratic myth meant to ruin the economy and foil Drumph's re-election chances. It's the same for social distancing. Conservative people don't think they need to do that either. Thus, if they aren't getting infected themselves, and many are, they are infecting others. If social distancing, wearing masks, and testing had been done seriously and universally in this country, from the get go, we would not have had such a horrific number of cases and deaths. Our leadership on the federal level has been acutely detrimental to the welfare of the entire country.

The governors who have dealt with this pandemic have done it terribly, from Cuomo to Abbott. I don't care if you end up electing someone from the same party, just get someone in there with common sense.

    Love doing it:

    upload_2020-6-16_5-4-10.png

As you can see, the notion that the cases were decreasing before Floyd's death is only true to the smallest of degrees. The rolling 7 day average had fallen from a peak of around 31K around April 7th to a rolling 7 day average of around 25K on May 25th. From that point, the rolling seven day average has continue to decline at roughly the same rate.

As for the notion that the cases stopped decreasing in the areas where protests took place, you are encouraged to remember that the protests took place across the entire nation. One of the biggest protests was located in Minnesota. Here is the daily chart for Minnesota:

    upload_2020-6-16_5-11-28.png

Again, there is no indication that any observed decline suddenly stopped and reversed itself, much less the ability to link to the Floyd protests.
