Possibly, but if you don't wear a mask in a business that requires one, you can be asked to leave.
For most, it comes down to virtue signaling. Not to mention this topic has been beaten to death.

1/2 the deaths are from nursing homes. The number of folks who were "infected" but never displayed symptoms is unknown. If we ever get close to knowing the number of folks with antibodies, we'll be shocked at what we did to this country. I suspect much is based upon political bias and clearly was never supported by facts. If you and other Branch Covidians want to mask up with your cute home-made masks, refuse to see friends and family, then that's fine. But, like with all cults, don't try and shove it down our throats.

correct. I and many others this past weekend turned around from a coffee shop that had a sign "masks required"

It was the right of the owner to make that edict much like it was our right to not give them our money. I see that as no different than if a shop required everyone to be naked. We can choose to patronize the shop or not. The owner can choose to deny themselves income.

Actually it's 1/4 of the deaths...but why does that matter? By not wearing a mask you can spread the virus to workers and support staff who infect those people you care so little about.

"The number of folks who were "infected" but never displayed symptoms is unknown."...but the fact that it occurs is indisputable.

That you refuse to wear a mask in the face of a global pandemic is just mind boggling.

Again...what do you have to lose?

This AIN'T about politics. You want the economy open? Great. Why not do it with the least physical damage possible?

I will certainly give you the point that in some cases it greatly enhances the beauty of feminine eyes, big time. Maybe the muslims have a point by leaving only the eyes visible?

Otherwise, they cause more harm than good for the conditions we have now. Their numbers illustrate how docile the American public has become, very easily frightened.

I'm wearing one right now! The real issue is if the government should have the power to force people to wear a mask. (Or stay indoors, close their businesses, etc.)

Didn't understand. What or who causes more harm? The muslims, or the masks? Are Americans too easily frightened by the pandemic, or by muslims?

It makes sense to be frightened by the pandemic, because it can kill or maim you for life. I agree it's absurd to be frightened by Muslims.

Well the thing is.... the virus lives in your saliva and mucus. The virus travels that way just like a cold. Stop the transmission of fluids and that keeps the virus at bay. Maybe not completely and that is where hygiene comes in. It is like the joke I saw not long ago. If 2 men are naked and one pees on another the person being peed on gets it all. If he is wearing pants he gets less. If both wear pants the man pisses on himself and the other one doesn't get wet.

I don't care if you wear a mask or not. Just keep your distance. I don't like people all up in my business anyway.

I'm going to start wearing a Jason, hockey mask. Just as effective as these homemade ones, only more fun!

If what you're looking for is cheaper, maybe plastic bags would suit you better. Make sure to wear them tight so no viruses can get in...

Do you think a tongue in cheek comment is more dangerous than serious comments that would lead to making this pandemic worse? You insult the poster's intelligence. I know they understand that they should not put a plastic bag on their head. And I know he doesn't believe that putting a paper bag on their head is a good idea,

But if you want to go down the "putting people in harms way" path... go ahead. I'll listen to your arguments. Let's see how you argue that defending not wearing a mask does not, in fact, put people at risk. Both on this forum and elsewhere.
