maybe you should actually inform yourself about a subject before commenting on it.

i personally don't know if newspapers can be held liable for their ads and op-eds.

Yup... Once you start controlling the speech of others, you are no longer a "public platform". You are, at that point, a "publisher", and you should be held liable for your content.

Trump's use of trashy social media demeans the office. That goes for other politicians as well. One problem today is that many people don't understand the difference between formal and informal communication. Certainly a President should understand the difference.

if Twitter becomes liable for the comments of their members, they will delete Trump's account in a second as he has violated their TOS policy many times.

The point was already made in the thread title. They have used their reach to interfere. Do you defend suppression of speech you don't agree with?

Trump violated the Twitter terms of service by threatening violence. He does not get a special right to do so just because he is the president.

Then you have no problem of terrorists, murders, rapists, et al, of making extreme tweets. When you sign up for any social media site, you abide by their rules.

Are you able to go to Trumps twitter feed and read the tweet in question??

    Y or N will suffice...

    Here's a simple coding exercise

    If Y Then No Suppression
    Else Suppression
    End If

Well, then to take that a step further, aren't tweets of those kind normally deleted?? (I don't know, but I assume they are)

Why weren't they in this case?

Because he's getting special treatment as the president. So he already has no right to complain since you're right, any other person's tweet of that nature would have just been deleted.

The President is basically, Nationalizing Twitter. Twitter is PRIVATE PROPERTY Neither he nor anyone else has ANY more right to expect "freedom of speech" there than you do to go over to your neighbor's house and take possession of his computer because he has better software than you. Twitter is a WEB PAGE, nothing more and people have every right to full and total control over whatever they put on their website If you don't like it, MAKE YOUR OWN.

What, specifically, are you claiming was suppressed?

Note also, they are a for profit company. Not a gov't or agency of gov't.
They do as every other business does, pander to their customers.

If tRUMP doesn't like their service, he if free to use another service.

Heck, I'm sure medal winner Limbaugh would be happy to let him rant on his airwaves.

Fair enough. Lets test that by switching the party being suppressed. Just before an upcoming election, SMS messages from conservative candidates are delivered without interference while disclaimers or click walls are added to messages from Democrat candidates. Is it still a messenger service?

Then they shouldn’t be censoring tweets. That’s editorializing
