And other insurance cos will come in and take business away from the companies that raise their rates with lower rates. It's called competition and is how capitalism works.

Oh, but you brought up the "correlation" mentioning aggravated assault, murder, torture, and rape by a police officer. Real thinking is difficult. Bad old protesters is easier.

I was always under the impression that insurance claims are void when the cause is rioting, terrorism or war. Am I not informed correctly. I remember the 9/11 attacks and the insurance companies saying they were going step up and pay claims anyway

It is about law enforcement and the kinds of people attracted to it. Some are there to serve.

Some are there to control others. They crave having power over other people.

All of the people arrested in Minneapolis last night did not live there or in the State.

Oh. Look at all the dead people. But this is only 90,000 people, and not one dead person is complaining.

Basically yes, you should have insurance and if you don't you have no one but yourself to blame. What do you do if you have an electrical fire? Rail at Square D?

Mind, I'm not excusing anyone for anything. Arsonists should be put away for a long time, no matter whether it was in a riot or not, arson still threatens lives

You can put riots on as a rider to most fire insurance. Terrorism and war might be different. Always get the premium package.

Well not exactly. I posted this.
But nevertheless, my point of you referring to these actions as protesting instead of rioting and looting must be too difficult to comprehend.

What dead people? I’m not following your footnotes. Are you comparing the rioting and looting in the country to the COVID19 deaths?

No. The new companies will have to charge the same rates the previous companies were going to charge based on the claim counts and loss runs.

Oh, no. Greed, lust for power, apathy, fascism, and incompetence has nothing to do with it.

It depends on the policy. Some exclude acts of terrorism and some will let you purchase an endorsement which adds it back to the policy.
it all depends on the individual policy.

Ahh, thank you good sir. I did not know that. Well, I live up in the north suburbs of Phoenix/Scottsdale where nearly every homeowner has an arsenal of weapons not to mention very proficient in the use of those weapons. I don’t think rioting and looting will ever be a problem for us. Got to love Arizona’s very liberal gun laws.

If you have insurance on property and equipment it's still one huge inconvenience to get torched and go through the claims process, and they depreciate it on the payout. And most businesses cannot afford business income interruption insurance. The black Minneapolis retired fireman who put his life savings into opening a bar had made it all the way through coronavirus and still had a June opening planned. But not now, not after being burned out. He doesn't think he will be able to live his dream.

And then--this is a true story--Derek Chauvin worked as a bouncer at the bar part time with another employee named George Floyd, but Derek didn't take a liking to Floyd and choked him to death on video causing nationwide riots and a black Minneapolis retired fireman to lose his alcohol business. You know. Some people (not you jay runner) that do all the talking have **** brains (little tiny).

Tornadoes are a bitch too. (especially with sharks in them)

There will probably be some sort of government sponsored low interest loans or even grants put up after this. Your friend should avail himself of that and realize that running a business is not a relaxing retirement hobby but an adventure which makes life interesting.

You also know nothing about re-financing a business that has been destroyed.

Alcohol is a legal and proper business in the USA. It has been since the 21st Amendment repealed Prohibition in 1933. The black fireman had every right to open a bar and grow wealthier -- and Derek Chauvin had every right to expect proper treatment while in custody, live through the booking process, and live out the day. Two black guys lost their rights, one lost their life.

So, there won't be any programs to rebuild the city?

Tornados are not intentional or criminal. I hope the black guy can dig out and win at life. At this point he can't see his way out.

Shouldn't be. The city administration of Minneapolis should be made an example of. But there likely will be.

How does punishing the people who lost their businesses make an example of anything?
