Not sure I can read between the lines...so are you supporting national guard coming in to help a city or not?

Of course, but I never tried to claim government was fascist.

I've been warning people to abandon blue areas.

Opening a business in a blue area is foolish.

Democrats who are getting hurt by their fellow Democrats deserve it for supporting and enabling them.

A very simple question: why can't Democratic protests be peaceful like Republican protests?

This is not a trick question.

I lived for several years in Connecticut. I love Connecticut. From WW II to the 1980's, it leaned right and prospered. It had the highest per capita income in the country. But today it's a dumpster fire. Businesses are leaving. Real estate prices have tanked. All because the state went blue in the 1980's.

The state went blue in the 90's, I even attended a Reagan rally for Rep Johnson (R) in New Britain in the 80's.

I think they enacted the state income tax in the 1980's. I'm not sure of that date. I Mark that as the beginning of the end.

I was a volunteer for the Reagan campaign in Danbury in 1984.

You almost got it right. Except that it is, of course, Trump who is after the martial law. Something he has been pushing for 4 years. Because he has got the most to lose. Like an election, which is why he rather not have one at all.

So Trump needs more chaos on the streets to have a reason to declare martial law and postpone the elections.

Just read Trumps recent tweets and UNDERSTAND what they signify. He has already threatened to shoot protesters!
Does that sound like he is interested in the back-to-normal that ultimately might not serve him?

    Of course not.

This is how dictators seize their moment.
    Just ask Hitler.
Trump has been given the gift of God (as he would see it) with the Corona-virus chaos and now the chaos of racial tensions.
He fore sure cannot believe his luck.

But this is what bad history is made of.

I left in 1989, and there was no state income tax then. Unfortunately and eventually all states will require a state income tax, all town and cities way overspend. Here in NJ, I live in a summer tourist town and they spend like drunken sailors.

I'm going to make it a dem issue because these things always seem to occur in democrat strong holds, subject to decades or democrat policies.

The left loves to blame the conservatives for all the world's problems... then we see what happens in the progressive utopias.

While conservatives in smaller urban areas sit back and ponder WHY these thugs and criminals assume they can just run over these leaders.

You think there aren't poor people in smaller cities and towns? Think there aren't minorities in these locations?

Why arent small towns burning and being looted?

If you followed the thread, I was referring to the deployment of the National Guard, not the protests/riots.

Many people saw kneeling during the national anthem as pissing on the flag. That's offensive. And I thought the whole reason for political correctness was to not offend.

I left in 1986. I'm very happy in Texas. The food (steak, BBQ, Tex-Mex), weather, and conservative politics are great.

I remember my parents bringing me to the ocean at 4 yrs old, 20 yrs later going back to same NJ spot, I could pick out the hotel we stayed at. Also spent a year due to work in Huntington Beach. I am hooked to the ocean.

I will probably retire in DE, cheaper than NJ.

Democrats have also proved that they cannot govern. Many of them need to be removed from office because they are destroying these cities, states and America as a whole.

Far left groups, like ANTIFA are not built that way. The people they attract are not interested in the actual cause, they are interested in the opportunity to deface, destroy property and assault anyone they can and get away with it. They could not care less about George or why he died. They just want violence.

Temporary martial law, especially enacted by liberal despots, does not override the Constitution, sorry, you folks will need some other insidious plan to steal our guns...

It's always puzzled me, in my town/county there is literally zero protests, and less than zero looting.

We also practice the 2a pretty strongly around here, I would advise anybody up to no good head to a Big city where looting seems to be pre-approved.
