    Can anyone rationalize it?

Police stations, patrol cars... what is to be gained by smashing/burning them? Our taxes will be used to buy new ones. The police arent going to lose their jobs over it. They just get brand new stuff.

Is that the goal? Because that will be the result...

The goal of the rioters is to loot for self gain. The organizers have political motives. The protesters are being used and drowned out

I suppose it's pure nihilism. Self destructive behavour are part of human being. Don't try to rationalize it, it's not.

I'm not sure everything would be build back. First because the USA, and especially big american cities already own a lot of money, so I'm not sure they will find the money to build everything back.
For private companies, small business owner won't probably all open back their business. Some of them are traumatized, some won't have the money, and for larger business, the USA isn't the only place where to invest money, and invester would may try to find a way to invest their money in place where everything won't be burned down.

Apparently, some people think that those destructions are temporary and that things would be build back as before, I doubt it.

By its very nature, riots are uncontrolled social events.

How do you rationalize the zeitgeist of frustration from centuries worth of robbing people's dignity?

How many billions of dollars have we put into inner city communities and schools? We have ended explicit governmental discrimination against blacks. We allow them their own professional organizations to help their communities. We provide billions for minority owned businesses. We give them tax advantages, government subsidies and we PAY businesses to hire them over white people. Not to mention the millions of people we sacrificed through war and victims of violent crime. And what do we get? Riots, looting, having our homes, businesses and places of worship burnt to the ground AND to top it all off we get to be called racist

Are you ****ing kidding me right now?

Socialists/communists cannot win elections, so their goal is to destroy the system. They seek chaos and the complete breakdown of society. They want to scrap the republic and start fresh, with a new authoritarian regime.

Evidence or not, they were shockingly effective, there has looting and burning everywhere for a week.

Thank god that TWO twitter accounts didnt do this, then it would be even worse.

Can you imagine the destruction if there were three twitter accounts? mind blown.

According to ImNotOliver, they are doing it to destroy evidence such as their finger prints. Don't ask me to explain his explanation.

    K. So they gotta take our guns first. How are the police gonna take our guns so we cant resist their authoritarian regime if they got no police cars or police stations?

    Devils advocate
It forces them to spend a ton of money, property damage, massive overtime, fks up the budget.

Gets attention, let's face it, a candlelight vigil in the guys hometown doesnt stay front and center for a week, it's a 2 minute blurb. (If the victim is white it's a 2 minute blurb)

Victim mentality leads to some wanting revenge.

Poverty and nihilism leads to looting.

Theres probably more to add, but my thumbs are tired.

Sorry excusing mob violence only begets more mob violence and mob violence solves nothing and makes every thing worse.

There have been decades of this injustice with plenty of excuses that make no sense, so if peaceful protests don't work, then what do you expect to happen?

Interesting how those on the right only claim their 1st amendment rights when it's their 2nd amendment that's in question.

People do not have one reason that they 'do' much of anything. Collecting together to engage in out- of -character destructive, or violent behavior or looting on a specific Saturday night is about being bored, being angry, being hot/sweaty, being cramped up, being swept up in groupthink, or wanting the stuff on the shelves and more often than not, at least three of the aforementioned simultaneously.

Democrat Mayors and Governors don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by stopping the riots. They'd rather let their cities burn to the ground than appear to go against the will of the people, including anarchists and the lawless. In the name of "humanity". Or something. o_O

They still point fingers of blame at each other for doing nothing though, while they refuse to do something. Cuomo....Not my fault, it's Di Blasio's, but it's not my place to stop the riots, even though I could. LOL Banana Republic Democracy.
