The plea for a living wage (or "livable wage," as you have phrased it) is straight out of the leftists' handbook. And much of your analysis appears almost Marxian. (Would you deny that?) The one positive point: At least you admit that Asians are not inherently more intelligent than most Americans.
Jim Rogers - (look him up if you don't know who this is) some 10 years ago stated that China had more fair and free markets than the US. Fair and free markets many not be "Obsolete/extinct" - but these are certainly on the endangered species list in the US.
You can certainly make the case that the America of 2020 is not exactly the same as the America of 1970. But to assume, then, that we can never reverse that downward trend--and that we should, therefore, just settle for managed decline--is an assumption that I do not share. To put it mildly. I do not know if we "would lose" if we had to assist the Russians again, on the eastern front, as in WWII. But you are certainly correct in noting (perhaps a bit obliquely) that the Millenials are not exactly the same as The Greatest Generation (a.k.a. the World War II generation).
I deny it all. I'm not a leftist. I'm a centrist. I'm definitely not Marxist at all. Of course Asians are not inherently more intelligent. They are raised to be good standardized test takers and memorize facts.
That is a bit like saying that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer centrist; which, when compared with AOC, they surely are...
I must have missed something. What was your question, that you directed specifically to me, that I "went all around"? In any case, you certainly did not answer my question..
How do you explain this? https://www.axios.com/mcconnell-tru...=social&utm_campaign=organic&utm_content=1100
Well, for openers, it is rather doubtful that there was any "use of tear gas" there: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/park-police-defends-actions-clearing-protesters-near-white-house-says-no-tear-gas-was-used (Of course, I probably should not expect this to change anyone's mind, since anything mentioned by Fox News is automatically toxic to anyone on the left.) And to describe this as a mere "photo op" is disingenuous, at best. Only Democrats and center-left religious leaders (or purely leftist ones) have thus described it. But let us return to the subject, shall we? I do not intend to digress any more, by playing this game. If you really wish to do this, then please do it in another thread. Or create your own. The actual subject of this thread is China--and how we should treat it, in matters of trade.
You are projecting your own lack of maturity. You are upset you have been called out repeatedly and exposed.
decoupling only mean other nation EU/SK/Japan, will take advantage of situation and benefit from it. China is too big to ignore and intertwined now. one example US sanction of Huawei, means the biggest beneficiary is Samsung/oppo etc, biggest loser will be huawei and other US company selling equipment to Huawei. Samsung already start building Fabs for semiconductor in China after US-Huawei situation. If there is tech decouple it means samsung and other countries semiconductor industry could surpass US tech in the future, consider China is one of the biggest customer of US chips, losing it would mean company not only lose a biggest customer but also reducing R&D while the slack are fill by samsung/sony/toshiba and other EU/Japan/SK countries.
tariff means high price for consumer here, other country can also put tariff on it. it also means, less competitiveness for company. There are plenty country have cheaper labor than china, textile industry already moving to vietnam and other cheaper place from china.
Samsung no longer manufactures smartphones in China at all, but they do manufacture in: India, Korea, and Brazil. Only a matter of time before they remove semiconductors in China too.
not talking about phones, anyone can make phone its the chip inside the core tech smart phone now has very low margin of profits, except apple. samsung are open FABS in china. https://blocksandfiles.com/2020/03/19/samsung-opens-xian-china-nand-memory-fab/
