As these insane riots are dying down some, some claim we need to have a discussion on race. Ok lets do. Let me start the discussion with two subjects. Why is it that 1/3 of all black men have committed a felony? The second question is why is it that when so many blacks are caught by the police while committing a crime they fight the police? It always seems that when the black guys start fighting back and harming the police that something bad happens to them.
Have you ever witnessed a black man or woman being arrested???I am 79 years old and I never have, despite living in the cities of Boston Mass,Newark N.J. and the suburbs of Philly Pa.
I'll talk race anytime. I'm hearing from some of the black protesters on TV saying they want justice and equality. Please explain in great detail what that means. I'll listen and not interrupt.
By justice they mean a lynching , by equality they mean privilege. It would be unjust to look the other way when a crime is committed. Justice was in fact being done when they threw that dude to the ground for resisting arrest. And it will be done when the police are acquitted. True equality is the last thing these thugs want. What they really want is a free pass. Possessions without work. An education without paying. A free ride. That my friend is true privilege.
Remember when Starbucks had their 'Lets talk race' campaign? Well I tried to talk to some of their barista's about race and found out that they knew nothing about NASCAR.
The felony rate is high because: a) black people are more likely to be impoverished, and poverty increases crime b) welfare broke their homes. Broken homes (as in broken families) increase the likelyhood of children becoming criminals across all ethnicities. They also increase the liklihood of poverty and... c) drug abuse. its historical fact that agencies of the govt have been caught pushing narcotic use in black communities. not lately afaik, but decades ago it was commonplace. drug abuse increases poverty, crime and familial dysfunction ...perhaps you are noticing a few 'feedback loops' going on here. I have some theories regarding the second question, but I don't have the facts to back them up, and Im not confident I could explain them without causing undue offense, nor am I confident that they're accurate, so I'll leave them be for now.
Wheels of justice turn slowly, but justice will be gotten for George Floyd -- I'm almost sure of it. "We will charge all that the facts and the law will allow." MN AG Keith Ellison. But I would like to see police officers ease off just a bit on everybody, once there is control and no danger to them. I'd remove a knee in 15 seconds and see if there is continued resisting of arrest. If not, no more knee, no more carotid pressure. I wouldn't want it done to me.
White person drug use is higher than black person drug use. The white population is clearly a majority over black population. Black people are a much higher percentage of the imprisoned drug arrest population than the white population. https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/rdusda.pdf Racism isn't everywhere. This is 100% true. It is, however, alive and well in certain areas.
