    https://edition.cnn.com/2020/06/03/politics/mattis-statement-trump/index.html
“Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis castigated President Donald Trump as "the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people" in a forceful rebuke of his former boss as nationwide protests have intensified over the death of George Floyd.

"Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead he tries to divide us," Mattis said.”

A marine general, former SecDef rips Trump a new one and says what many people have been saying for years. Trump is immature. Trump divides the country rather than unites it. He doesn’t even pretend to unite.

I am genuinely perplexed that his supporters cannot see Trump for the con man he is.

We are witnessing the consequences of the democrat childish behavior and lies. With the msm backing it every step of the way.

President Trump has done a great job

At this point, they can't afford to admit their error. They got too much invested in their great orange hope. But more and more are seeing the light and turning away from trump and speaking out.

Well, in all fairness, trump did say that there were 'fine people on both sides' when he compared the tiki torch right wing racists in Charlottesville who murdered a demonstrator with a car to the victims of their rampage.

Not nearly enough, but it's takes guts to admit you were completely fooled....

    SNIP
The remarks will be a significant moment for many service members who idolize the former defense secretary, who -- despite a career based on loyalty and respect for the military chain-of-command -- is sending troops the message that the country can unite without the President's lead.
    ENDSNIP

Not only can, but must, since he cannot lead effectively.

There was no error, President Trump cannot be blamed for the childish and violent behavior or leftists that has been drummed up for decades to require but a catalyst to set off.

Saw this part at the end. But Mattis directed most of ire at Trump saying "Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the Constitutional rights of their fellow citizens—much less to provide a bizarre photo op for the elected commander-in-chief, with military leadership standing alongside."

Yea so there is nothing in constitution that allows you to riot and burn things down and kill people. I have a very hard time believe thing that Mattis said that. That in additional to the fact that this is CNN makes me doubt the whole article

He has led far better than any democrat thus far. He took action with the coronavirus prior to any democrat, and now is demanding action from the states to protect their citizens despite democrats kid gloves being used.

Where we are at today, is a symptom of democrats and their lies and divisiveness.

As long as he falsely claims to "own the libs" and "win at everything", they'll play along...

I really thought 2018 would be a wake up call, but it clearly wasn't... I really expected some long term semi-independent Congressional member (a Sasse or a Paul or a Portman) to fully compete with Trump for the nomination, but nobody was capable...

And as long as he says somethign you like no doubt you will believe him.

The reality is, Trump has done a great job and the violence is a result of democrats and their lies. He can have his opinion, that doesn't make it true.

Only if you ignore the facts. How many people do you think could be involved in this nonsense you all constantly claim? Everyone in the world is in on it but trump and his minions eh?

At some point you have to start listening to facts, reason, and logic.

The worst of it is that for most of us rational types, trump's behavior is transparent and trivial. It is embarrassing, shallow, devious, and always self serving. He is not only a pathetic excuse of a president, he is a pathetic excuse of a man.

Its not nonsense, its simply the objective fact.

Dems and the MSM push false narratives constantly painting black people as a victim of racism when the reality is that simply isn't true. These lies have resulted in a build up of anger and frustration that simply needed a catalyst to erupt.

If you ignore the facts then you could come to the conclusion this is Trumps fault. But only if you ignore the facts.

His opinion on when its best to use the military is obsolete. His opinion on how exactly to complete the mission given to him isn't.

    Significant difference.

Democrats would have a much better time painting Trump as divisive if they actually spent time trying to unite people instead of attack them. They are what they claim to hate Trump for.

Jim Mattis was never fired by Trump.

Remaking history is really the Trumpster's specialty.

That's really about the lamest attack yet... mostly because it's completely wrong..

MAttis resigned (thus the famous Mattis resignation letter - get it?).

Trump, being a gigantic *****, changed his resignation date up earlier than Mattis suggested, and claimed he was fired..

Trump wouldn't have 1/10th the balls required to fire a James Mattis, especially to his face...
