I wish we could copy some ideas from Australia, mainly their immigration and visa policies.
However that would make us the most xenophobic country in this hemisphere according to the media, actually we aren't even half as aggressive as Australia and the media already thinks we are horrible.

Newsflash... I didn't write the piece I posted and have no obligation to answer your objections to any of it. It's one person's view of odd events throughtout the Floyd case. I know challenging MSNBC or CNN's version of something is taboo, but it's something you'll have to accept. Many people think for themselves. :)

Remember when Rumsfeld praised the Iraqi looters?

"There has also been schadenfreude, with some noting then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s justification of looting after U.S. troops invaded Iraq as “part of the price of getting from a repressed regime to freedom." When some U.S. officials invoked Iraq or Syria while speaking of the unrest in their cities, many here were outraged, and pointed out that America’s foreign policy in the Middle East had instigated much of the strife now associated with their countries.

“The hypocrisy stretches to the United States routinely condemning human rights abuses in Iraq and other Middle Eastern nations, painting itself as a global beacon for liberty, while American minorities face disproportionate police cruelty,” said Haider Sumeri, an Iraqi analyst."

The riots have once again exposed America for the BS hypocrite country it has always been since 1776.

Yeah. If I were a cop-hating criminal, or a criminal defense attorney, I'm sure the thought would never occur to me to file a complaint against my arresting officer as part of my defense.

"Chauvin, who had worked with the Police Department since October 2001, had been disciplined for only one incident during his tenure."

The riots have produced more irony than hypocrisy.

If the peaceful protesters were able to accomplish their mission without the rioters and looters, they could well have influenced change for a kinder and gentler police force.

Instead, the rioters are proving that American needs a bigger, badder, and tougher police force to prevent hoodlums from destroying cities.

    Major backfire.

    You "did not know that"?

There is NO PROOF that they ever "worked together" or even knew each other.

The story that they were (for a time in 2019) employed at the same place has been floating around (and has been common knowledge) for at least a week.

I find it surprising that you are just hearing about it.

Anyway, the idea that they "worked together" is very tangential:

A broadcasting entrepreneur who used to own the building that housed El Nuevo Rodeo, a club where the men did indeed both work in 2019.
Santamaria told us via phone that while the employment history of Floyd and Chauvin at the club did overlap some, it’s unlikely that the two men knew each other.

“They were in different departments, and in different parts of the building,” Santamaria told us. “I don’t think they knew each other. I think that’s a stretch.”

Santamaria said that Chauvin worked at the club long-term as an off-duty police officer who provided security outside the building. Floyd worked as a part-time security guard who was positioned inside the club.

So while it’s true that Floyd and Chauvin worked at the club at the same time, it’s unknown, and unlikely, according to the former owner of the building where the club was located, that the two men knew each other.

At times they were employed by the same place, but how much time they actually "worked together" is unknown.

There are too many Trump supporters who need to figure out we have to get people out spending and make up for businesses with demand dropping off. People don't want to travel much by plane or cruise ship. Unless you're some who hates the country and think there's something to be gained by it failing, you have to consider the facts even if you don't like them.
I've talked to a few friends who are still nervous even when we know there's not much virus around.
Big crowd events aren't going to happen just yet. If I was back running an auto repair shop, I'd be nervous about the virus getting out and the possibility we could have more business closings. Big crowd events could overwhelm testing and tracing.
Yeah, I tend to avoid the nonstop COVID-19 stuff--and the breathless protest coverage. I think the protest would have been better received if the protesters were trying to stay apart instead of going out, getting COVID-19 and bringing it back to the grandma who only loved and cared about them and now watches their kids.

We could have isolated ourselves as they've done in Australia. The Canadians are doing a better job than we are and we could send troops to help out at the Mexican border. We'd be as almost as closed as Australia.

We need to get the COVID-19 cases down because at least half of Americans are avoiding going shopping as much as possible as long as the virus is around. It will be tough to avoid a serious downturn is people won't get out of their foxholes.

Are you saying that one worked at 9 pm and the other worked at 9 am? The building is small, it is not the size of the Pentagon. So it is inconceivable that they didnt know each other and what each was doing at the place.

Travel is perking up, quite a bit. Talked to a client with 30 short term rental homes here in Florida, he was shut down the entire month of april, lost a ton. When he opened back up he booked up every home through July in the first 10 days. Hell i'm trying to get to Denver in a couple weeks and my choices are Frontier (ugh) or driving up to Orlando to get a direct flight, planes are Full and the airlines are adding capacity almost daily. People WANT to travel.
I don't care about the chicken littles, they can stay home that's their problem, they are so busy trying not to die they aren't living but if the media didn't hammer them every single day about how dangerous it is, nobody outside of NY would even know we have a virus out there.

What idiot with his child in tow, goes walking up to police, who were busy shooting rubber bullets at looters? An activist looking for a photo opp?

Really cute kid by the way. He did look like he was having fun while Daddy was entertaining the child during a riot while active looting was going on.

    ---

"We agree the image is disturbing and we all share the community’s concerns for the safety of the child, the peaceful demonstrators, and the officers.

"While the review of the incident is underway, we do know that this image was taken at the time that violent disrupters were throwing bottles and pyrotechnics that could cause great bodily injury to anyone in the area.

"We are reviewing all of the related video footage to determine the facts of the situation. The item depicted in the image is a less than lethal launcher."

unfortunately that is my position as well, along with strong reinforcement as to why I live in a nice quiet city that is 70% red, everyone is pretty chill around here. I used to say you'd have to double my salary to move back to Chicago, now I think you'd have to triple it.

You can tell in the first photo that the officer is aiming the rubber bullet gun to the right of the man and child, not at either of them. But, yeah, that dad is an idiot, potentially placing his kid in harms' way.

    WRONG!

It is VERY "Conceivable" that they never crossed paths.

Totally LMAO at any suggestion that there is Absolute Proof that they even knew each other.

Another FAKE "Narrative" goes down in flames.

I'm going out on a limb to say that many rioters don't understand the events, either.

That is too funny. You can tell that the cop is aiming the gun away from the man and his son but you are incapable of seeing four thug cops murder a man in cold blood on a video or seeing two Slave Patrol members shoot a black guy three times with a shotgun.

Intelligent people know that it is bad public policy to allow thug cops to murder people without consequences.

Carnival is fully booked for awhile after they go back to sea in August.

Long lines at restaurants here and the casinos had a better Memorial day weekend this year than last year.
