The George Floyd Murder Protests: Lets be clear about what is really going on.

Anybody who takes a 2 year old to a protest should lose custody immediately. It's called child endangerment not police brutality.

He didn't repudiate his view that inflation is a product of monetary policy.

 

Parents have a moral responsibility to protect their child. Period.

How could you stand yourself if you hurt your kid?

 

Likely, neither myself or Smart or lonestar would be stupid enough to take my kid to a ruckus event during a global pandemic and a freaking riot. Kids should be at home, studying(or given the young age here, doing potty training or something.)

 

Why should hundreds of local business owners, who are NOT police, who provide jobs to the community, lose their livelihoods? WTF did THEY do to George Floyd?

 

Who is the civil war being fought by?

 

My wife and I were granted "landed immigrant" status (permanent residence) based on a points system in 1968. They wanted our education and training. Canada takes some refugees, allow immediate families to reunite, but isn't overrun by illegals. The Aussies have a points system, too.

We really need to resolve some problems.

We should end illegal immigration. I would use a national ID that replaces and includes social security. The Nexus Pass is a model--an ID that allows holders to go back and forth over the Canada--USA border. Visitors would get the ID as a visa. If they aren't supposed to be working here, a reader (an app on a cellphone) says what the holder can and can't do. Overstay your work permit? The card says you can't work. Americans, of course, get an ID that says they're citizens.

Employers would face nasty fines for hiring illegals. Domestic, casual labor? Must be checked. Flaunt the law? You go to jail.

We could give all illegals a chance to apply for a card before they're issued to everyone and the program goes live. Illegal and fail to apply? You have to leave the country. Getting a card may get permanent status or a temporary visa.

Once in place, the ID will make an illegal worker radioactive for potential employers. Illegals ... why cross the border if you can't get a job? We can decide how many of the millions of illegals get to stay as legals. The rest don't get a card with an approval to work. Your card may be good for 'x' days as a visitor while you wind up your affairs here.

Refugees? We can decide who and how many. Family reunification? We decide. Break the law? We decide who gets a second chance.

We can make our immigration debates about a situation we control, not one controlled by who can run the border or overstay a visa.

You need to make up your mind because you have been very supporting of this party/protest and there is no socia distancing. How convenient for you. You have it both ways.
