All fish are good if properly prepared it's just harder with some species... Grandma had a cook book with recipes for almost anything that walked swim or flew.

Hmmm ... is a fair point. I did not check where Oregon ranked :)

An interesting link is attached: https://news.gallup.com/poll/267698/support-legal-marijuana-steady-past-year.aspx

Support for legal weed is ridiculously high – 66% on average. The link breaks it down by various demographics … if you take ardently religious and older folks out of the equation it is ridiculously high.

What then is the “legitimate” justification for this law at the Federal level ?

Clear case of illegitimacy of authority .. Clear cut violation of the founding principles and the definition of a Republic - and we sit here and watch the charade - as if no one knows what a Constitutional Republic is ?

California, NewYork and New Jersy are about as Blue as it gets.....

so why are all those states bleeding citizens at prolific rates?
Florida (a Republican State) has unfortunately absorbed about 3 MILLION New Yawkers. I guess they couldn't stand all the happiness?

Likewise, people are fleeing California and new jersey in droves. Must be happiness overload?

    According to this article,

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/mone...te-fastest-growing-shrinking-states/38918791/

The state with the fastest growing population is Idaho followed by Nevada, Utah, Washington, Florida, Arizona, Texas, and Colorado, all but two are Western States because everyone knows life is better in the West. The people tend to be healthier and live longer.

The state that is losing the most population is Wyoming, most likely because there is almost no industry there, followed by West Virginia, Illinois, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Louisiana, and North Dakota. All but two are red states with back of the pack economies.

The real center of ultra blue America is the trio of Washington, Colorado, and Oregon. California just isn't the leader it used to be. Yet when one follows the politics of the West one sees a growing Western pact, so to speak. The West Coast is solidly Democratic as is Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada. Arizona is purple turning blue, as is Montana. The only outliers are Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. Utah is nothing like the Republicans in the Bible Belt. Maybe it is due to their religion, but Utah probably takes better care of its poor and disabled citizens than any other state.

I thought it was interesting that Oregon was tied for second for the least amount of hours worked, but also third for increase in income. Also, apparently people in some red states work a lot of hours.

The only thing that gets me about Dallas is it's flat as a pancake. Always freaks me out for some reason.

So suicide rates = level of happiness? Hahaha!

Lefties have a low bar when simply not snuffing one's own life out equals happiness.

There are a few hills where I live. It’s not as flat as Houston, New Orleans, or Miami. It’s more like Chicago, which is still very flat.

If you can get past the politics California is a great state to live in if you love the outdoors. You have the ocean, mountains, great hiking, hunting and fishing. You can ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon. Napa is beautiful as is Lake Tahoe. Yosemite and Carmel are breathless. I lived through both Republican and Democratic Gov's there before moving out. There was no difference between the two political parties when it came to incompetence.

This is about America, and the top five states leading in Suicides are red.

And, your 'stat' is derived from regions, which I don't think is fair.
It's fairer to compare suicides per 100,000 people per all individual countries, let them stand on their own, and when we do that, we get this,
and, as you can see, if we compare all countries, the netherlands are way down the list. Russia and 3rd world countries are the worst, which makes sense. When comparing America, my purpose here is to compare states to each other.

Montana is also the state with the least number of uneducated people.

see thread here: The Least Educated US State - this may surprise you

interesting how some of these state statistics rankings seem to be completely inversely related

As for specifically why Montana leads the pack in suicide statistics, you may see this thread, which has extensive information (probably more than you want to know) on that: Why 'Deaths of Despair' May Be a Warning Sign for America
