Frasers Imports on the 1.7.2020 will lose their distributor rights from Ducati. There are only about 25 Ducati dealerships in Australia. Ducati only has a small share of the market...about $13 million in yearly sales from memory...that's not a lot compared to Harley Davidson, Honda, Yamaha etc.... It costs Ducati dealerships a small fortune to set up their showrooms in Australia... New Ducati head honcho in Australia/NZ is Sergi Garriga…. Wonder what his business plan is..... Ducati is a prestige motor cycle...hope they stick around...
My son rides an Aprilia, loves the bike, but the dealer is not the most customer orientated around. Sometimes we can't blame our demise on others.... Now he learned that the model he is riding is discontinued, despite the fact that he bought it only 18 months ago. I hope we are not entering into a world, where only one bike or one car manufacturer survives. I love multiculturalism in any form or way.... The world is so beautiful and colorful, and we should do what we can to sustain that, reg.
I am not sure what you are questioning, it was pure simply a matter of time before Holden was erased as it was pure and simple Australian branding. With the death of manufacturing in Australia it was a simple matter of time for GM to remove the costly rebadging. If you considering the legal action, I don't know enough about it. I am not sure there were breaches in contracts or support. All in all, if you consider the issues that saw the closure of car manufacturing in Australia, you have to understand that the Greed of the nation is what killed it and was evident since Keating pointed it out.
I am not a sedan nut, my passion is 4wding. Plenty of LS conversions going around, we're keeping it alive with these beautiful V8 engines. And boy do they purr. Don't get me wrong, I'm a diesel torque kinda guy, but even the most Cummins obsessed bloke has to tip his hat to what Holden and GM achieved with their LS line. In terms of air intake not much does better.
