    I hope that the mayor and police have Intel on that area. They better keep the governor informed in case they need state police and or state national guard.

    They would have intel if they controlled it. It being a part of the city....that they are charged with protecting....against illegal acts.....like this.....

    Yet more right wingers calling for mass murder. Yet more advocates of 'freedom' demanding the US government use lethal force on peaceful protesters. Yet more people who have zero problem with armed right wing mobs storming legislatures, other government property & pointing guns at LEOs but want to destroy part of a city because a group of idiots decide to stage an admittedly stupid protest. Yet more people who scream about 'tyranny' because someone, somewhere in the US can't buy a 30 round mag for their AR-15 but have no issue with the Dear Leader rolling the military into a city against the wishes of the Mayor & State Governor. More 'pro life' types who just can't wait for someone to start murdering people they don't like or don't care about.

    Scratch a Trumper & there is a nasty little authoritarian just begging to get out. You can see why these folk like Putin so much. Always good to be reminded how hollow the rhetoric really is.

    State & local authorities have the resources to deal with this and unlike the rabid right & their kool aid suppliers in the media actually know what is going on there. If force is ultimately required, and it may be, they are the ones who get to decide when & how much. Until then they are the ones who can try to resolve this peacefully. My bet is that it gets sorted with minimal violence. No doubt that will anger those desperate to see people they don't like dead in the streets.

    Cool we have to use drones to see what is going on in the occupied parts of a American city. Sounds great.

    They are trying to de-escalate the situation so they decided to back out. So if that is the approach then go stealth until you are ready to move back in.

    I do love me some All Americans. Very proud division, and with good reason.

    At some point it will be time for the federal govt to act if the local govt does not.

    Latter I would hope the people of Washington vote the inactive and ineffective leaders they have out.

    I am all for de-escalation. But we are at or damn near the point that failed strategy ends and the rule of law is enforced. If the local pansy govt won't then somebody else should.

    Just me being sarcastic. The extreme right wing and the Trump fans are convinced that there is this organized group canlled ANTIFA. I think that it is an anatchistic semi organized bunch of groups. I do not think that there is a president of ANTIFA. Or a Board of Directions of ANTIFA LLC.

    No, freedom of assembly means that the government cannot interfere with it, not private citizens. Think of a street festival with age restriction - they are occupying public area and restrict certain individuals from entering.
    If you think even further into it, police inaction indicates that the autonomous zone is a de-facto City-sanctioned event, similar to a street festival. I feel bad for locals, but they only got themselves to blame for electing goons who are tolerating this kind of crap.

    I would agree there is not a centralized group. No need for that anymore in the digital age though, organizing events and riots is easy as facebook or twitter these days.
