Yes but black people want a free reign to commit crime without the fear of being arrested. That's the message that BLM are sending. It's not about equality, it's about black power.
So pretty soon it will be: Judge: How do you plead? Criminal: I can't breathe. Judge: Case dismissed. I fully understand wanting the police to treat criminals more humanely. I believe that is worth looking at. But we have to be realistic here.....we are dealing with criminals.
A policeman's job is to maintain law and order. His or hers job would be a lot easier and safer if criminals and liberals understood the same thing.
You perfectly illustrate two things that need to change in American society. 1. Your callous disregard for why there is so much violence within the black community.......which in a larger sense contributes to it. 2. Your willingness to accept, unchallenged, what you hear on conservative media sources. https://www.politifact.com/factchec...elder-mislabels-statistics-fatal-shootings-p/
I wonder how much earlier the country would have come to this moment of reflection and anger over centuries of abuse of black people by society at large and the police if all the murders of black people by the police had been caught on camera? https://www.motherjones.com/crime-j...e-to-see-armed-police-barge-into-their-homes/
Probably because police are sworn to protect and serve, not be assassins. I don’t completely disagree with the great work overall that police do. Aamof, in general it should be applauded. But, public safety isn’t just about cops. Confrontation with police subsides when healthcare and economic conditions improve in the community. I believe in “ a cop on every corner” as a deterrent but also as a public relations conduit with a gov. That cares about the general health and well being of the citizens that pay his salary. So no, I’m not for cutting police budgets. I’m for expanding healthcare and economic opportunity.
I wish the right had as big a concern about public education and universal healthcare as they do for police protection. They are ALL. Social services. Crime prevention isn’t about just policing. It’s about providing equal access to good paying jobs through education.
You are literally living in the past, in hopes of keeping Americans in the future divided. That is your cancerous ideology on full display. way to go champ.
Living in the past ? Well, fortunately there seems to be shift in the willingness to remind people that we don’t glorify slavery by keeping the names of bases, streets and avenues and buildings in line with those that worked to preserve slavery. . Small step, but we’ll all find an improvement in everyone’s lives when we improve the lives of those most affected by injustice. The black experience ( and poor in general) is like the canary in the coal mine. They suffer the hardships that everyone can, earlier, longer and at greater levels.
I think you could benefit, as could we all, from asking yourself whether the mis-perceptions you hold are the result of disinformation or your inner most feelings about black people?
What disinformation is this? I am going by the BLM website and their stated goals. I think the misinformation is the perpetual lie that the UK and USA are racist and that blacks are kept down by white people. Here's a fun fact; black people are being used as a tool to install Marxism, as Marx said, they are incredibly easy to control. I seem to care more about black lives than BLM, another fun fact for you.
Do you actually think about what you post, deeply? First, when i mention that 7k blacks are killed by other blacks and ask why those lives don’t matter, the response is ‘because cops are sworn to protect us’. To begin with, why does that matter? Does that justify only caring about a life when ended by a cop and not when ended by a non-cop? Then we should re-brand BLM to DEFUND POLICE as you confirm this is not about lives, it’s about cops. second, you confirm you only care about the 10 unarmed black lives a year but not the 7k black lives. It’s because cops, right? If so, where is the white lives matter movement? 19 unarmed white people were killed by cops last year vs 10 blacks. third. What is your end game? Get it down to 0 unarmed lives killed? It’s like me saying i will not rest until murders, car accidents are 0. Realize that to riot and protest for 10 lives makes 0 sense as that is remarkably low and you will never get that to 0. There are 45 million black people, there are 7k black on black murder, blacks commit over 50% of the homicide and there are thousands of police confrontations with criminals a year, i find it shocking that only 10 unarmed blacks were killed, this means cops are exercising caution, otherwise, given all the crime and confrontations, if cops truly were that bad, there would be hundreds to thousands of unarmed blacks gunned down a year. A harvard study actually showed that cops are more reluctant to shoot a black person out of fear of being destroyed, look it up. Lastly, you claim you want cops that actually care about community and citizens? The level of brainwashing here is amazing, that’s 90% of cops out there, this is why they risk their lives every day to keep us safe. What do you do for a living? What if your job was to go into a dangerous neighborhood when called to face off against violent criminals? That’s a cop, most took this hard and risky job to protect us. Pause for a moment and absorb all of this and tell yourself if you truly have spent 2 mins questioning your preconceived notions.
I know this one will be tough for you The Black on Black thing? That extremely racist trope? Black's aren't killing Blacks because they are Black. The same cannot be said for police. You're welcome.
Very telling that nobody's mentioned the MILLIONS of black people murdered in the womb. Such hypocrisy makes the whole cop issue ridiculous. The black population is shrinking, but it's not due to killer cops.
Don't forget TDS-20.... Thinking everybody is out the get Trump !!! Its infecting more people on the right than the other two.
Yeah, But it’s still our history, good, bad, or indifferent. Who’s next, George Washington,Thomas Jefferson? where does it stop?
I suggest the poster read about what has happened in CAMDEN N. JERSEY since they disbanded and then completely reformed their police department in 2013. They are being used as an example of what should hopefully be resulting.
