    As is typical, several Antifa terrorists attacked a lone person and one Antifa terrorist appears to have a knife in his hand. But the person being attacked had an equalizer.

    I give the guy kudos for having the restraint to not shoot all of them.

    How we have come to a point where armed militia can roam the streets intimidating protesters without immediately being arrested is proof positive our's is a sick society.

    This is why the Rose City AntiFa was created. The police tended to overlook the criminal behavior of violent right wing gangs, even excuse the behavior. And in some cases actively participate. Apparently the people violent right gangs attack, deserve to be attacked.

    I don't look for trouble, but I do work near protests and I am armed. I guess that makes me a militia type along with 1.5M other Texans.

    What you failed to mention about this incident:

    The protest was peaceful until the subject, Steven Baca, grabbed a woman protester and threw her to the ground; he then approached the rest of the group marching in the street and sprayed them with pepper spray.

    After being sprayed several protesters attacked him one swung at him and hit him with a skateboard several times, not a knife.

    He then shot the man with the skateboard with a series of shots to the torso.

    There is no known link between Antifa and the protester

    He was seen with The New Mexico Civil Guard before the incident, but they said he was not one of them and the militia group did not support his actions.

    He was arrested and charged with “aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center early Tuesday.”

    You mean the protestors who were taking a pickaxe to the monument? Btw his “violent throw to the ground” can be at worst a weak shove.

    So they can violate the law but not others? You’re going to find real quick that stuff doesn’t fly for very long.

    And I wonder why they don’t say anything about the cries of “kill him” right before he pulls out his gun.

    In the video you can clearly hear the protesters saying they are going to kill him and then the skateboard guy starts hitting him with the skateboard while the others are punching and kicking him. That's when he opened fire.

    Self defense. He drew his gun after the guy he shot pulled out a knife. There was a still photo of the knife in the tweet thread. The blade was 6-8" long.

    Edit:
    I just read the story that gives more context. From the tweet, the guy was defending himself against a crowd and one of them had a knife. From the story I just read, he either started or escalated the conflict with pepper spray. That put's the blame back on him(if it's true). At least in Texas law, starting or escalating a conflict that ends in deadly force removes your defense to prosecution. Defending a statue with deadly force doesn't work.
