I'm quite curious about this... Please answer each question (if you wish to respond) ---

    1) Do you personally know anyone who has contracted covid-19? (Meaning: people who you have a regular and direct relationship with, such as family members, close friends, and coworkers... This does NOT include "friends of friends", a "co-worker" at another building for your company who you never come into contact with, and other more distant relations)

    2) What is their occupation? (if you happen to know what it is)

    3) Were they in good health? (Meaning: did they exercise regularly, did they eat a healthy diet (ie, NOT a vegan diet), did they smoke/drink alcohol or soda/take drugs regularly? did they have any underlying health conditions (especially lung conditions such as asthma or cystic fibrosis)... In other words, did they already have a compromised immune system before they contracted covid-19?

    4) How bad were their symptoms (if they had any)?

    5) Did they end up dying?

    My answers:

    1) Yes. I have two family members who have contracted the rice-a-rona. My cousin and her husband.

    2) My cousin is a nurse. Idk what her husband does for a living.

    3) As far as I am aware, they are both in good health. No underlying conditions, etc...

    4) Mild symptoms at most. No hospitalization required. Wasn't a big deal at all.

    5) Both lived to tell the tale.

    1. Yes. I, personally, have known three people with COVID-19.

    2. 1 = elderly; 2 = disabled

    3. 1 = Lung cancer; 2 = Unknown health problems

    4. Unknown

    5. 1 = Yes (death); 2 = recovered (they refuse to stay quarantined or wear masks so who knows the secondary infection rate?)

My 12 YO niece in Tampa. She had a dental appointment and they check your temp, hers was 100 and they sent her for a test, other than the fever, no real symptoms and she is fine.

I am going to be interested in this thread as the infection rate increases further

    1) I know one confirmed case. Not a real close friend.
    2) vet tech
    3) Mid twenties female. No underlying conditions. I’m guessing social drinker. Active, corn fed beef eater. Based on lifestyle and profession a very good immune system.
    4) She lost ability to taste so was tested. Never any other symptoms. Her husband and toddler daughter never developed symptoms so never sought testing but I assume were infected. If pre and asymptotic spread are what some claim her in-laws should have been infected as well but never had symptoms. I subsequently had unavoidable close (inches, not feet) extended contact with one of her in laws dealing with a veterinary emergency. I was informed of their exposure and they donned a mask that didn’t survive the melee that often ensues during veterinary procedures. We both laughed.
    5) I guess she ate enough to survive even though she couldn’t taste her food. :)

Sortof. My ex's stepdad had it. I used to know him well, but havnt seen him in years.

He's a corrections officer at the county jail (its suspected he got it on vacation visiting his parents in Seattle).

He was in good health when I knew him, and afaik he still is.

No worse than a typical flu.

    Full recovery.

Some increase in cases in Victoria but we are looking to re open soon

Aussies seem quite OK with the thought of face masks if it means getting back to normal or near normal

I know several dozens who were infected, most of them in January and February. Some had severe symptoms, spouses often had mild symptoms. Nobody sought medical help. Some were sick for a week, some for only a few days. None died, and all seem fine today. Ages from 20s through 60s. I know one medically related couple with antibodies but no symptoms.

    Know 2.

My 52 year old brother and a family friend in his 40s. Both died.

    No health issues..

Both were construction contractors. One roofing the other a painter and dry wall.

@gfm7175 At least three people, a cousin and two friends, all of them work in the medical field. All of them are young and healthy and survived.

    Appreciate it.

We were worried about one of our other brothers who was having a quad bypass and valve repair on his heart. Before he could recover enough to go home from the surgery my baby brother died from fast onset covid. He went fast . Never seen anything like it.

Oh left one out. My son in law's aunt. Caught it from her young grandchild who showed on cold symptoms. She is a homemaker.

In her 50s good health. No worse than the flu.

I know of 5. One person from work who is on my team was hospitalized for a little over a week.
Both her and her mother were diagnosed as having been exposed to Covid. Luckily they both survived.

Another person from work who leads some of our presentations has been out because her mother recently died from Covid.
And a third person from work on a different team from mine but one we're starting to work with said that their father-in-law died from it.

Lastly, I recently found out that one of my childhood friend's... their dad whom I knew growing up died from it.

There could be more of my coworkers that are impacted, I tend not to pry into people's personal lives, but things like that do come up in conversation and in email. With the exception of the coworkers themselves and my friend's father, I do not personally know any of them, and I am unfamiliar with all of their exercise routines and diet tendencies.

Okay, so if I am understanding correctly, the one who died was elderly and had an underlying lung condition (lung cancer) and the other two have recovered from the illness?

Thanks for sharing. Seems that she is not an immune compromised individual and that her immune system did what immune systems do. :)

Thanks for sharing. So, this sounds like an individual who has a strong immune system (besides potentially the alcohol consumption (if consuming enough and often enough, would need more info there). The loss of taste is interesting to me (I'm assuming she got it back??) but otherwise sounds like all is well now.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like the individual who you once personally knew (assumingly still has a properly functioning immune system) just had typical flu symptoms and is now perfectly fine.

I was told that he tested positive. Though it was extremely early, back when the tests were less reliable.

Thanks for sharing. Wow, that's a few people there... But sounds like they all were able to recover at home (no medical help, as you say). Sounds like some might not have had as strong of immune systems as others, but all in all they ended up surviving.
