The CEO of a billion-dollar investment firm said his company is getting out of Seattle just in time as residents accuse Mayor Jenny Durkan of letting the city's so-called Capitol Hill Occupied Protest get out of hand and turn deadly.

"The unrest that has taken place in the city of Seattle … there is really is not a downtown business community today," Smead Capital Management President and CEO Cole Smead told KTAR News on Monday.

It seems that the same climate that allowed CHAZ/CHOP to exist has now driven away an employer within the Dreaded Private Sector. Perhaps to Seattle residents, the elimination of the DPS is a good thing, even better if it's an investment firm.

I wish all the best to Seattle residents who continue to vote Democrat. At some point, they will find their once beautiful and prosperous city will look like Detroit, another Democrat mecca.

Maybe those leaving have found John Galt?

NYC has driven out Amazon; why should other Democrat-run cities be any different?

That's key point #3 at the link, but then key point #2 says:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who pushed back on the HQ2 deal, claimed the decision as something of a victory since the expansion did not yield the $3 billion in performance-based incentives state and local leaders promised Amazon in exchange for 25,000 jobs.

Fair trade, I say. Besides, Amazon will probably want to build more later on anyway. They were just trying to play hardball.

What? Investors leaving and taking their huge amounts of money with them? Well, that's going to spell the end of vibrant business growth in the area, or should I say zone?

Money flow, this is a huge part of what makes capitalism thrive and make people wealthy.

Obviously, the fact that the investors took their money and left will be a huge thing. There will be cries that the system is racist! ;)

They've saved $3 billion in handouts to Amazon and they're still getting Amazon jobs now to boot.

If a Republican had negotiated this way, you'd be ecstatic about it.

That's two people leaving. The president and the coffee lady.

A company that leaves so easily evidently doesn't have any local staff.

A simple but very incorrect answer, a business that only needs communications and people to operate can move anywhere overnight and most of such business's already have backup locations to move to.

How many times has it been explained to you that tax breaks aren't "handouts"?

Do you need me to explain it to you again?

If your local or state government lowered your tax burden, would you consider it them gifting you with a charitable donation?

They will scream that profitable states and cities be taxed to prop up the Rotten Applehole.

If high taxes weren't enough to chase businesses away, feces and crime should finish the job.

Formerly Beautiful Seattle is now a Legal Proverb, of what NOT to do, of the failure of appeasement.

Several Black Lives Matter protesters were arrested and charged with terrorism, rioting and assault.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater told the rioters, “This is not Seattle. We’re not putting up with this lawlessness here.”

Rioters attacked a police station and hurled objects at police officers.

If convicted of the felony offenses, they could be sentenced to years in prison.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater made the decisions himself on the charges in a get-tough approach meant to deter others from going too far during protests in the future.

Also charged Friday were five defendants indicted with incitement to riot and interfering with a police sergeant who was trying to take a homicide witness for an interview at police headquarters Tuesday.

    Not smart.
    Oklahoma is NOT Seattle

Either that or the special business tax Seattle wants to impose on its businesses, which there has been repeated talk of, in different forms.

The Democrats let the knuckle heads go wild, the city/state should be responsible. Don't ask the federal government to pay for their damage. They'll just have to raise taxes.
