This is just you not knowing what happened or where it happened.

First, this was a protest against how police operate in the city. Trying to propose that is partisan is just plain silly. Statistically speaking, NOBODY here thinks that there is a partisan angle.

And, your "thugs" comment is purely an excuse to ignore the actual issues.

Did they take over legally? NO

Did they take over with everyone's permission? No.

The issue is them taking over a part of the town illegally. Since they did it illegally against the wishes of the residents, the purpose is immaterial.

    Now THAT is hilarious.

Put on a MAGA hat, and walk through CHAZ.

The answer to the question "Is this partisan?" will be pounded into your skull in about five minutes.

That doesn't make the issue partisan AT ALL.

Plus, there were those in attendance who did NOT agree with the fundamental issues of the protest.

You claimed it was "partisan". Thanks for abandoning that argument.

Yes, civil dissobedience IS dissobedience. But, that doesn't invalidate the motivating issues.

These protests ARE causing the underlying issues to be taken more seriously.

We even saw the US Senate recognize these issues - though their solution was a pathetic joke aiming for nothing more than avoidance.

The fact that the protesters at CHAZ would be outright hostile to anyone who demonstrated any support for Trump, or even THE AMERICAN FLAG, doesn't demonstrate a partisan bias? Really?
Yes, the LEFT is often quite divided and schizophrenic in their beliefs, but the vast majority of those protesting (and rioting) at CHAZ were still leftists. To claim that there's a faction of Trump/Republican supporters at CHAZ is just silly.

Again- go put on a MAGA hat and see how far you get as you stroll through CHAZ.

    I double dog dare you.

LEGAL protests are helping. Illegal protests like the one in Seattle are doing more harm than good. They are creating disgust.

...and why was this happening? because those who enforce the law were killing citizens and getting away with it over and over again.
Its horrible someone was killed. Hopefully, it proved to the dysfunctional idiots who took advantage of the situation.... the community shouldn't be totally policing themselves and it will take a joint effort with police and city leaders to make any progress.
The last few nights were bad down there.

Think about it. No protest is particularly accepting of those who do not agree with the message of the protests.

And, THAT is absolutely not an indication of partisanship.

Whether anyone related to Trump in ANY WAY agrees with the issues of CHOP is totally irrelevant. The protest had specific issues - NONE of which said anything about Republicans or Trump.

The CHOP protests are causing progress on the issues the protest identified. That is a very well known fact.

There is a long history of protest that does not point to staying within the lines as being particularly effecive.

It was just a matter of time.

New NWO social engineering letting radical, extreme movement burn themselves out showing their true nature.

Letting people of groups make mistakes is passive guidance.

Sorry dude - do your own homework.

You're making accusation after accusation without ANY logical argument - pure hadwaves with the crazy assumptions I've pointed out.

I'm not going to spend time rebutting the various particles in the fountain of nonsense you provide.

If you come up with a cogent argument, that might change.

I can't find that "well known fact". The fact that I can't find it and you won't produce it says it does not exist.

The residents? More assumptions on YOUR part.

All you have EVER had on this topic of CHOP is assumptions.

Why are some of the residents suing?

Are you claiming that all the residents were in favor of CHOP?

It was done illegally. Not all the residents were in favor of it.

Good question. Maybe YOU should look into that.

I know there are some businesses that want to sue somebody.

I would say that the demographic of that location in the city is undoubtedly in general agreement with the issues CHOP promotes.

It's not a wealthy neighborhood. It's long been an LGBTQ area, with police being a real problem for them. It has a significant student count due to adjacent colleges, and that community tends to be more aware of the impact of police injustices. The multiblock park has long been a staging area for protests and marches through the city, as it is a direct shot to downtown and then one right turn to get to Seattle Center, the site of the spae needle, the international fountain, and lots of open space - making locals especially aware of protest movements and what motivates them, rather than as some sort of illegal activity that requires armed assault by police.

They weren't happy. They lost business.
The Constitution is generally written to protect the individual rather than the general population.

    How are they helping?

If the goal is to save the lives of black people, the protests are already majorly backfiring, because the environment of lawlessness and cop hatred the protests have incited have violent crime spiraling out of control, black homicide numbers are way up, and they haven't even defunded any police yet.

Defunding and demonizing police is sure-fire way to make violent crime and homicide rates in black neighborhoods increase significantly, because it always does... always... like clockwork.

So I ask you, how are the protests helping? By what real-world metric are they "working" now, and how, pray tell, are they going to work going forward?

The legal protests have gotten everyone's attention. The illegal ones are also getting everyone's attention, but are doing more harm than good.

    That may be your opinion.

But, everyone here says that the protests HAVE caused change already, and that more change of a significant nature is being considered.

    Hey - here's an idea:

How about reading the Seattle Times? It's a reasonably right wing paper that endorsed GWBush, for exampole. They aren't actually published in Seattle, preferring the somewhat more right wing east side of the lake.

They even have interviews of policemen today!

Or, you could just continue making assumptions, I guess.

How about the people that it was illegally imposed upon? No assumption there. It is not right. It is not legal

And how are the protests doing good? MORE black people have been killed as a result of the protests, and more will certainly be killed as a result of defunding and demonizing the police.

How is that a good thing?

I don't disagree with a single thing you said. They were good only in the sense that they got attention. However, most of it was bad.

The Associated Press reminds me a whole lot like the NYT the day after Charlie Hebdo. Surrender now and avoid the rush.
