How much more clear do they have to make it?

They're flat out going to take funding away from the police, and funnel it into their social services black holes.

    I mean, did they stutter?

They're not mincing words, or trying to be sneaky about it. In no uncertain terms they're telling you they're going to get rid of police officers. What sort of mental gymnastics do you have to perform in order to interpret that as "They're just going to ask for community input on how to make the police better"?

Here's the input they're getting from their insane communities-
They're shouting down any politician who dares to suggest NOT DEFUNDING the police.

Umm. It appears that you aren't reading much about the neo-Marxists of the far left. You know, the people who don't want to divide the country. They want to destroy it.

I've changed my mind on this, let them abolish it and burn their city, who cares what these wackos do anymore. The more isolated these idiots are the better.

One the "bright" side, you can get a house in Detroit for less than $30k.

Some of the old gang wanted to know if I was interested in buying back into the old neighborhood. Happy where I'm at and too old to start over. Good opportunity for young people to get land and fixer-uppers. Some people don't like re-gentrification though.

If you are ok with your kids attending failing schools or collateral damage in drive-by shootings.

VIOLENT PROTESTS — THE BACKLASH IS COMING:

Quite a few Americans outraged by the sights of statues of Christopher Columbus or other figures from history being beheaded or pulled down, or the defacing of statutes of abolitionists in the name of racial equality. We have a legal and democratic process to remove statues from public squares when a sufficient portion of the public deems them no longer acceptable. These communities have zoning boards and local elected officials who can make those choices and be held accountable to the public through elections. Nobody elected those angry mobs to a damn thing. This is rule by force, the strongest willed forcing those who are weaker than them. This will not end well for anyone.

There will be a backlash to these actions, but not in the form of the “white people’s riot.” They prefer to express their opposition in a way that these protesters expect it least — businesses moving out, reluctance to hire, reluctance to visit a neighborhood, effectively abandoning a community. Not every wall that is built is physical and visible. But one way or another, the reaction is coming.

That leaves us sitting in the nearby suburbs clutching our guns and bibles.
Praise the lord for Magpul and Federal Cartridge. Glad I bought in years ago.

What next? Mount Rushmore? Spring Mountain? Washington state and Washington D.C.? All streets, schools and towns named Jefferson? When the pendulum swings the other way in the future, as it will, will all vestiges of MLK ,Obama, Dubois and Thurgood get torn down? You cannot erase history. Just like on this forum when it is brought up about black slave owners or lynching's by whites in the north and the denial by both sides. It happened and it is history. You don't have to like it. When all these people who tore down these statues, drive by the spots where they were at, think everything's OK now? They were statues before they were tore down and had no life. Now those spots are alive with the ghosts of the past and reminder everyday of the past.

    Chiraq, but worse.

I've lived in some seriously rough inner-city neighborhoods in my days and I can tell you from first-hand experience that one of the main reasons why crime is high in those areas is because the residents are terrified of the criminals and gangbangers and won't report them to the police out of fear of retaliation. Now the "progressive" idiots across the country who are calling for abolishing their police departments would have us believe that these terrified residents are going to magically discover their courage without the police?

To make matters more absurd, you know that the "progressive" authorities in their cities aren't about to allow the people in those citizen patrols to arm themselves, so they'll be facing armed criminals and gangs empty handed. I cringe to think what's going to happen to the few, if any, volunteers who sign up for that suicide mission.

Just another case of liberal "progressive" policies turn into a "regressive" outcome.

It should be interesting. The city seems to believe that they can cure their budgetary issues by abolishing the police and their very expensive pensions.... Oh wait... that isn't really going on, is it? It's about public "safety" and being more benevolent in how we maintain the good order there in the Twins... It really is a drama worth watching. Likely, this could become the model for how progressive democrats transfer the debt they've racked up over the decades all in the full throated denunciation of those who tried to keep a lid on all of the other feckless experimentation they introduced in their cities. When violent crime really gets away from them, and folks vote with their feet, and leave, then what? Detroit part two? And when it becomes clear that all that remains is a super minority concentrated urban population who couldn't leave, then what?

LOL... You caught that too. It is super funny though that what is good enough for the rabble clearly isn't good enough for the political elites...

The social workers who will show up and de-escalate violent situations by winning violent perpetrators over with kind words and bags of candy.

Almost as stupid as Leftwing nuts call to remove Elmer Fudds shotgun from all cartoons

No doubt, soon the entire Looney Tunes Cartoon series will be declared racist and removed from Google, Facebook and YouTube

Since the upside down Christmas tree phenomenon, it seems that the Leftist agenda is to Upside Down Everything Including the Police, to be replaced with whom?

That idea will end after the first social worker takes one between the eyes.

I wonder what the alternative will cost and how long before they ask for a federal bailout.

Here’s one city that will welcome business. And need not worry, Phoenix metro has 2 million gun owning conservatives.

Phoenix is located in the heart of the fastest growing and most dynamic metropolitan area in the country with a population of over 4 million people. Phoenix has a population of 1.6 million and is the fifth largest city in the United States, forecast to be at least #4 by 2020. Adjacent cities include Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Goodyear, and Surprise – and other nearby cities include Tucson, Yuma, and Flagstaff.

The Phoenix-Casa Grande-Tucson corridor has been and is expected to be one of the fastest growing areas in the U.S. in the next decades.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that by 2030 the population of Phoenix will grow to 2.2 million, and the population of the metro area will reach 6.3 million.

There is a thought. We could put social workers in blue uniforms and arm them just in case.
