Explain what? I had a dear respectable black woman in my life as a child and treasure her memory. What does that explain to you? And BTW we in the South are taught to respect our elders and use Mr. Mrs. or Miss when we speak to them out of that respect.

Did it solve racism? Did it make her breakfast "not racial"? Did she buy some Betty Crocker instead?

The DP and much of what eventually passed itself off as a "progressive" movement has always focused on generating racist hate, disunity and political violence.

"After Green’s passing, the owner of Aunt Jemima, R.T. Davis, experienced financial issues and the brand was sold to Quaker Oats two years later. As for the image of Aunt Jemima, Nancy Green was followed by Anna Robinson, whose image was changed to a painted portrait on the packaging of the mix. Next was Chicago blues singer and actress Edith Wilson. She was the first Aunt Jemima to appear in television commercials.

After Wilson there was Ethel Ernestine Harper, a former school teacher and actress. The fourth Aunt Jemima was Rosie Hall who was an advertising employee at Quaker Oats until she discovered their need for a new Aunt Jemima. After she died, Hall’s grave was declared a historical landmark."

LOL! The appearance has been there for generations. The only snowflakes are the ones crying that "It's offensive".

LOL the alt left loves to try and pretend like they are alphas.

And ...... bringing up the rear:

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Mrs. Butterworth’s will undergo a brand review, its parent company, Conagra Brands, announced Wednesday.

“The Mrs. Butterworth’s brand, including its syrup packaging, is intended to evoke the images of a loving grandmother,” the company said in a statement. “We stand in solidarity with our Black and Brown communities and we can see that our packaging may be interpreted in a way that is wholly inconsistent with our values.”

The really important question is what color is Mrs. Butterworth?

Remember the Spanish Inquisition? They reached a point where a momentary failure to appear ardently Catholic could get you shunned or killed.

That's what this is about .. the slow erosion of ordinary freedoms, in a single very particular ideological direction. The "church" deems more and more things offensive, until tiptoeing through life is about all anyone can do.

And as I said earlier when everything is evidence of something nothing is evidence of something and now NO evidence us require. One of the flaming books going round is Robin DiAngelo's "White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism" and in her recent interview on NPR said

"Racism is the foundation of the society we are in. And to simply carry on with absolutely no active interruption of that system is to be complicit with it. And in that way, we can say that nice, white people who really aren't doing anything other than being nice people are racist."
    https://www.npr.org/2020/06/09/8733...le-can-still-be-complicit-in-a-racist-society

So you don't even have to be a racist and engage in racism to be a racist anymore. We see it here on this board with the implied accusations of racism just trying to discuss the issue.

They type of change occurring most certainly is. See my post above. Watch them tear down statues of Washington and Grant. Watch them burn cities and attack mostly white people. Watch the anarchy. Would you prefer historical images of black people be removed from advertising even after they have been modernized?

Tell me do you believe there is more racism in our society than there was in the 1920's....the 1950's? And spare me the phony qualifiers like "systemic". RACISM, more or less?

Pancake mix is nothing more than flour, baking powder and a little salt. Why would anybody pay extra for that because it is mixed and boxed? I didn't realize that Uncle Ben, whoever he is, is a racist. It is wrong to use a black face on a package? The package has something to do with the rice inside the box? The use of a black visage on a package is racist? Seems strange but I really don't care.

And it is the quality of that flour, the quality of the baking powder, even the salt and the convenience of those premeasured ingredients. And yes I can see where we will only see white faces on packaging and then protest that blacks are not represented.

And the family speaks. All those saying this was the right move what say you now?

Family of woman who portrayed Aunt Jemima opposes move to change brand

An East Texas family is not happy about the ‘brand changing’ of a popular pancake syrup: Aunt Jemima.

The iconic ‘Aunt Jemima’ has long standing ties with the city of Hawkins, and a goodwill ambassador named ‘Lillian Richard.’

Living in Forney, Vera Harris is the family historian for the Richard family of Hawkins, and could hardly believe a big part of their family legacy, the 'Aunt Jemima' brand, was about to be erased from supermarket shelves.

"A lot of people want it removed. We want the world to know that our cousin Lillian was one of the Aunt Jemima's and she made an honest living. We would ask that you reconsider just wiping all that away. There wasn't a lot of jobs, especially for black women back in that time. She was discovered by Quaker Oats to be their brand person," Vera says.

Lillian Richard became a good will ambassador for Quaker Oats and for decades portrayed Aunt Jemima all over Texas.

"She made an honest living out of it for a number of years. She toured around Texas," Harris says.

In the Fouke community just outside Hawkins is a historic marker dedicated to Lillian Richard who's recognized as one of several women who portrayed Aunt Jemima.

And the family is proud of what she did.

The problem is.... The first Aunt Jemima was a real person and not a stereotype. I saw a black woman from Africa cooking with Gordon Ramsay. She was heavy and her hair tied up with a bandana.

I just cant support the brand no matter what they do, logo change, name change, whatever it is the fact remains that it's a racist product, has been a racist product and the company has acknowledged this fact.

Why would I buy a known racist product?

frankly I should complain to the store mgmt that the racist product needs to be removed from the shelves.

Sorry racy mcracist, It would be wrong to support a product with apparently despicable past.

What's amazing is that I never knew that the black community was suffering every time they had to look at that awful label. It must have been very difficult for them.

Ps to the SJWs dont go soft on Yale or Seattle, go get em tiger!

Ps. I hope yogurt survives the purge, I like yogurt.
