the owner gave an interview. i dont remember where i saw it. maybe i heard it on the radio. edit. here is the source. Mark McCloskey, the homeowner, told KMOV-TV that a mob rushed toward the home as the family was having dinner and “put us in fear of our lives.” “This is all private property. There are no public sidewalks or public streets,” McCloskey said. “We were told that we would be killed, our home burned and our dog killed. We were all alone facing an angry mob.”
Yes I do! The man pointed the rife at his wife twice: once in the beginning and the wife actually grabs the barrel and pushes it away from her body. The second instance is during the entire ending he is pointing the rife to his right at her body! I would be more afraid of being shot accidentally than by intention! They looked totally confused. They must of just unpacked the weapons from their shipping boxes.
They were undeniably brandishing. The question is whether they were justified in doing so. It would've been a simple thing to point their weapons downward and merely been bearing arms instead of hip-waving like a stormtrooper. I think they have a tough legal battle ahead of them. They should've taken a class on self defense, or at least watched a 2 minute youtube video on firearm safety...
First off, not what Partizan was asking about. You also posted a video in which the commentators are blatantly ( I assume it was blatant ) lying about what happened. Nice propaganda piece.
Seeing something on paper doesn't equate to knowing how to respond in a true face-to-face encounter, assuming one even bothers to read the instructions.
You won't know how to respond in a true face-to-face encounter until you do. So any training is pointless outside of having someone actually shooting at you and trying to kill you. Why not just say you shouldn't be allowed to have one rather than putting such a ridiculous stipulation on it?
You're correct. My training did not prepare me for those times I faced a weapon pointed at me. The body's fight-or-flight response kicks in automatically. It's scary. Because it gives people a peace of mind to think they are relatively safe (even if the odd are stacked against them). Taking guns from law-abiding citizens just means the criminals and cops (sometimes, they are both) have them all.
As long as they are afraid to approach the point was made. Good in that couple for defending themselves.
so how do you prepare for that how do you train for that? Okay I don't understand your argument. So people that have to have this impossible training in order to get guns but you don't think police and criminals should be the only ones with guns?
You can't as you already stated. I agreed with you on that. I am suggesting that people have a right to bear arms. I just believe they need some basic training to know how to use them. Admittedly, I'm a biased. I've known seven people (personally, not professionally) that have died because of the mishandling or easy access to a weapon.
Yes, I agree. Yes The you did act as if those weapons came from Amazon and were hidden in the foyer closet until 15 minutes before show time. I am sure he said to wifey " let's go play bad asses". But they only proved that they looked like asses.
Have any of the trespassers been arrested, you know, for trespassing? Where were the St Louis police? Why didn't they respond.
I don't think training would fix that. Really the training you need not to shoot someone or yourself accidentally are the three rules. Now you need to discipline in the attitude to follow those three rules. And if anybody ever gets accidentally shot it's because you weren't following those three rules. 1) always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction 2) keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot. 3) keep the gun unloaded until you're ready to use it. Guaranteed all seven of those people that you know broke one of those rules if not all of them. Anybody who reads this post is trained.
You are correct. All of them would be alive today if they (or those around them) knew and followed these basic rules. I've had training, but I'm sure some here will appreciate you taking the time to post a valuable lesson!
I'm sorry you've lost these people in your life I wasn't trying to belittle that. But I've known people that accidentally shot holes in their house or in their cars because they were sloppy with the rules. That is not training that's attitude. Well gun safety is really simple, like any safety it just requires a serious attitude toward it. If you just follow new rule number one what I call the Golden rule nobody ever gets shot accidentally. Property on the other hand Maybe. back when I got my concealed carry handgun license and then my security license in the peace officers license I really went through the same training for all three of those. You were required to have 8 hours training. 7 1/2 of those hours we're focused on the law and safety. 20 minutes waiting for the firing line and actually 10 minutes firing the gun. And mostly the training is what I said here except for the law part.
Thank you. Agreed. It is VITAL for people to take it seriously. It truly is a matter of life or death.
