“Fox News Channel finished the second quarter of 2020 with its largest audience in history as viewers flocked to FNC for information on everything from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic to nationwide protests stemming from the death of George Floyd in police custody.

Fox News has its most-watched quarter ever in both total viewers and during the primetime hours of 8 and 11 p.m., finishing as the most-watched among all of basic cable in both respective measurables. It was the 16th straight quarter that Fox News finished atop the total day category.

“Tucker Carlson Tonight” finished as the highest-rated program over an entire quarter in cable news history.”

This is both not surprising and it’s good news! Fox News is number 1 and has been for like 17 years or more. This last quarter was an all time record. Several shows set all time records and Fox has the top 6 news shows.

I don't have FOX (I'm cheap, and I don't watch much tv anyhow), but I've seen some of Tucker's stuff shared here and on Facebook and I kind of like him. He sort of has a dry sarcasm I can appreciate. He can appear straight faced and serious, while tearing someone's weak argument to shreds, often just by setting them up with enough rope so they hang themselves.

OK guys, you're gonna tear my arse up for this one: I DVR Hannity and Carlson every day. My problem is I only watch their Friday shows and not the shows from Mon - Thur. Carslon is great. Hannity is good but he repeats himself too much.

Almost never watch them on tv, hannity is on the radio during my commute home but I cant take more than 5 minutes.

I actually like Beck, in the mornings, he has a good sense of humor, great delivery.

I am always confused when the right screams the left dominates the media when
    • The largest broadcast news station is right leaning
    • The most watched news channel is right leaning
    • The most watched news show is far right leaning
    • The most watched news personality activity campaigns with 45*
    Can someone explain?

That's why fake news CNN and PMSNBC's ratings are way, way, WAY behind FOXNEWS.
    Both of them collectively even.

I think the majority of Americans just aren't news junkies. They're happy to be spoon fed a few minutes of partisan mainstream media crap, and then it's time to switch over to reality tv or whatever else they watch. That's why the MSM's influence is so toxic. That's mostly all the low information crowd is listening to.

Calling Republicans “the low information crowd” is an interesting take on this although probably against forum rules..
Guess that’s why Fox is so popular.

    Great analysis.

You posted in a thread about fox news being the most watched news channel for the second quarter of 2020 with “... the majority of Americans just aren't news junkies. They're happy to be spoon fed a few minutes of partisan mainstream media crap, ... That's mostly all the low information crowd is listening to.”

Maybe you got your threads confused...

I don't do much Fox News watching. But, recently I have found myself purposely tuning in for Tucker's monologues during the first 10 minutes of his show. The guy has been putting up some original content that is incredibly thoughtful.

    Math matters.

The viewership of ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, plus the reporting of NY Times and WaPo dwarfs the Fox News audience. Virtually all of those sources report on Trump at a 95%+ negative rate. Those sources also parrot the Democratic Party's talking points, or perhaps they write them. It's indoctrination from those sources... and you seem to be good with it.

You should probably quit while you're only as far behind as you are now, ROFL.

Was this thread really so hard for you to follow? You do realize ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN etc are the much-criticized mainstream media?

    :roflol:

And what was that about "old age", LOL? Everyone else seemed to understand but you. Maybe you should stay in your lane with the "old age" digs ;)

Factual reporting is all I care about, no spin (there are a few good broadcast stations and websites for this)
Just because the other networks dare to report factual but negative events about dear leader does not make them partisan.
That you want to be “spoon fed a few minutes of partisan mainstream media crap” — as @Libby so eloquently put it — is your issue, not mine.

Because Math. It’s not hard. 1 station is still dwarfed by the entirety of the MSM. Not even close.

You keep highlighting main stream media (traditional or established broadcasting or publishing outlets — oxford dictionary) as if that changes the meaning of your post.
Maybe you are confused as to what that means. Or are you saying the most watched is not an established broadcaster?

Do you really believe Fox is the only conservative network? Sinclair broadcasting the only conservative broadcasting network?
Ever hear of The Blaze? The Federalist? New York Post? One News Network (formed just for alt right “voices”)? Daily Caller? Breitbart?

    Math must be very difficult...

What broadcast network might that be? Fox is the only news channel on the right unless we count tiny OANN and NewsMax TV. Are you suggesting Tucker’s audience is bigger than ABC, CBS, NBC nightly news? Jim Acosta and Jake Tapper actively campaign against #45.

    100% WRONG.

You should read my signature line slowly.

When the negative rate of reporting is 95%+.... the nation has a problem with it's "Free Press", especially when it was 80%+ positive for Barack Obama.

Are you having trouble with the word most or is it the word largest that is perplexing you?
They each can be represented by only one.
