Dude I did the math once. The US is the most violent developed country in the world. If you remove the black population it falls back in line. If you made Black America it's own country it would rival Sierra Leone in murder rates.

American public school math graduate, right?

.0001% of 45M is 45 people. You are out by two orders of magnitude. The correct number, ~0.01%, is also a pretty small number -- but it's not that small. If you have spent much time in casinos, you have seen longer odds than that come through. It's roughly 13 passes in a row at the craps table. Rare, but certainly not unheard-of.

Duly noted FTR that you are erroneously conflating studies with statistics!

There are several factors involved here.
Crime is higher where there is a higher concentration of poverty.
Crime is higher where drugs are more prevalent.
Drugs are more prevalent where unemployment is highest.
Unemployment is highest where schools are poor.
Schools are poor where all of the above is true.

So you see, environment has a great deal to do with it and those environments came about by segregation past and present.

Next up is the stats are not of all of each crime category but all convictions in each category. For example, 60% of all murders go unsolved, or perhaps solved but without convictions. More than half of all murders aren't even in those stats that people cite. It's safe to say that people with money are far less likely to be convicted of crimes than those without. Public defenders are far overtaxed and unable to really do their jobs well no matter how good their intentions. Who here thinks OJ was innocent? He had lots of money for good lawyers. What do all the people released from death row after their innocence was proven have in common? Bad lawyers during their trials because that's all they could afford. Justice may be blind but it isn't cheap.

Profiling. How many blacks get sent to prison for crimes that whites don't even get arrested for. If cops raided every dorm room and frat on college campuses they could fill the prisons twice over if they arrested and convicted all those in possession of drugs. Now all those kids would now have to answer yes to felony convictions on the job applications. What does that do to their prospects? The same thing that happens to the poor kid that does get busted and convicted. Blacks in jail for possession outnumber whites 3-1, do you honestly believe that whites smoke that much less pot than blacks?

It goes on and this is what defunding the police is about. Rather than spending so much money on treating the symptoms of society's ills but invest in preventing the illness in the first place. There will always be crime and police but a better world needs less police because there's less crime.

From a few days ago an event I don't recall seeing being debated.
Three North Carolina officers fired after racist comments on video emerge
Piner told Moore that he feels a civil war is coming and that he is ready. Piner said he was going to buy a new assault rifle, and soon “we are just going to go out and start slaughtering them (expletive)” Blacks. “I can’t wait. God, I can’t wait.”
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...icers-fired-over-racist-comments-video-emerge

How common is this? Who is more likely to be arrested by these officers, a black man or a white man - an earlier post contained a table of arrests in an attempt to highlight black crime. (arrests, not convictions)

that all sounds wonderful, but you can’t defund the police BEFORE crime rates fall. Crime goes up, businesses get the hell out of dodge, unemployment increases, causing crime to rise even faster. Also, criminals realize they can get away with a lot more with less police around. These cities are going about this completely backwards.

There are towns that already have over the years. The path forward is not unknown. When the term defund is used it doesn't mean eliminating police altogether but to change the system. Police shouldn't be responding to mental health calls and they shouldn't be dealing with the homeless for example.

Your post is right out of the 60's and mostly bunk. In fact, it is 100% bunk.

“Promote then, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge. In proportion as the structure of a government gives force to public opinion, it is essential that public opinion should be enlightened.” (Washington's Farewell Address 1796) http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/washing.asp

There was this one English teacher in that school we were bused to would take 30 minutes to call the roll. My father was attacked by other teachers for saying, "If the student hasn't learned, the instructor hasn't taught."

I had teachers look at me like I was an idiot for suggesting they teach ethics; so basically the kids came out of High School with the RRR's and no idea of morality except from the mob. Teacher says, "You must have done something wrong," when a kid is attacked; fully supported logic of the Principal and School Superintendent. So when they illegally block a road and surround and climb on vehicles and one points a gun at the white truck inching forward and then the truck takes off, with some of the unethical on it, they obviously blame the truck driver.

In response to not all lives matter by a few, they create only one race's lives matter for all and get major party endorsement; they take offence at the notion that someone might not understand the inequality, because without any ethics is it perfectly normal for an inequality to be justified to deal with an inequality; No Justice, No peace. We are told we simply must understand only one set of lives matter in the slogan, really means something else; injustice in one community, must be fought with injustice (no peace) in all. If a few do something, all of them are guilty and must be defunded; it is a pattern of ethics throughout, animal want without any logic.

Public opinion can't be enlightened if there are no ethics in education.

You are right, but the high per capita crime is not evidence of any racial/genetic deficiency.
Most of the problems afflicting black Americans have an external cause.

The targeted destruction of the black American family, community and culture has been the result of deliberate progressive government policy and action, most of it initiated and carried out by the great enemy of black America throughout its existence - the Democratic Party under the direction of its consistently racist political bosses.

“Both of them have sold us out, both parties have sold us out. Both parties are racist, and the Democratic Party is more racist than the Republican Party.” Malcom X, By Any Means Necessary, Malcom X, Betty Shabazz and Pathfinder Press, 1992, P 46.

The RP, since Reconstruction has always been as pathetic, indifferent weak and unreliable as the former Whigs that created it.

I am amazed that this OP which started as a joke or something else is still up and running. A sixth grade math student with a google machine could crush the OP in five minutes.

No I'm not. I'm asking you for evidence for your claim, and explaining why I am skeptical.

Duly noted FTR that you are just makin' $#!+ up.

So, you can't actually cite any such studies, is that right?

Schools that can no longer even teach the 3 Rs cannot teach anything else. The schools have failed - they need to be sold.

The Law can teach ethics far better than any school, but scofflaw law makers, judges, prosecutors, and police teach anarchy.

What point are you trying to make? The stats show an outsized percentage of crimes, compared to the thirteen percent they represent in the US population.
