Im not sure, but I think they all ride their motorcycles to Sturgis once a year! The problem with life expectancy charts is that its not possible to measure until death. Those passing away today at 80+ years did not grow up eating processed foods and pharm products. Today a third of our population is diabetic or pre-diabetic. Life will be much shorter and more painful for most Americans all in the interest of profits for food and drug companies.

 

Why is that? Those countries have a single payer that are incentivised to seek lowest costs to maximize care for the dollar. You rely on the insurance companies to do the same but they don't. Has it never occurred to you to ask why? Wouldn't lower costs help their bottom lines? It should but they just up your premiums instead. People are loath to go through the process of searching for new insurance so that helps but what if the insurance companies own big pharma and the hospitals? In that event then they get to justify raising your premiums knowing that the profits from the drugs also head their way. How else can you explain record profits for insurance companies and big pharma and the hospitals? Shouldn't someone be taking a bath?

The only reliable way to get health insurance is to work for the employer that provide health insurance.
Otherwise person will be bankrupt in no time if he/she get sick and health insurance drops him/her as not profitable.

Gee, I wonder why 'Catastrophic' policies were suddenly unavailable to the general public? The PPACA made them 'illegal' because they didn't provide all the bells and whistles the government felt everybody should have, after all, the government knows what's best for you, eh?

Now that they are 'legal' again, they've put age restrictions on them - regardless that a person has the high deductible funded, and are a generally healthy person, we just can't have people making decisions based on what they want and need, now can we.

Do you know that you can get many health care services for reduced prices when you pay cash for what you need? Did you know that most pharmaceutical companies have programs to reduce the out of pocket expense of purchasing their product? Did you know there are several conditions and minor diseases that can be addressed without pharmaceuticals?

If you want to consider working to pay for things you need and want (there is a difference) as slavery, you are in for a long, miserable life.

 

The Republicans did not control the Senate when the ACA passed. Get your facts straight. Not a single Republican voted for it.
