Isn't it time that Americans learned the county's actual history? Obviously it was already erased and whitewashed by the revisionists a long time ago.

I did the fact checking and the video is spot-on.

Amazing why the Commander in Chief of Bone Spurs, who whimped out on performing his military duty, should care about protecting bases named after confederates??

Why don't the MSM protect the statues, monuments, and name sakes of the Civil War Rebels? The MSM seems to support the mobs today that are rebelling against the federal government.

Changing the names costs a lot of money and even after they change the names, the names will not simply disappear.

I am not sure that it is appropriate to describe all Confederate generals as "losers." (Yes, they were on the losing side in the Civil War. But if they had been on the victorious side, would that automatically have transmuted them into "winner" types?)

Well.... they're losers because they.... lost. If they had won, they would have been winners. But they didn't!

In any case, the cause they were fighting for was immoral. So even if they had won they would have been losers at some point. History has a way of always shedding out the immoral causes.

If they don't like a base-name let them build and name a few of their own.

You are putting it the context of today. In the 1860s states had more significance to the people than the United States. They were fighting for their state. Robert E Lee was offered to the chance to lead the union army. He declined because he did not want to fight against his own state of Virginia. It was not always about slavery.

Slavery was as immoral in the 19th century as it is today. And they knew that that was what they were protecting.

But there were conflicts which had nothing to do with slavery. Lee would have ended up fighting his friends, neighbors and relatives. That would be a tough decision no matter who you are.

Then he doesn't fight anybody. You don't fight for a cause that you believe is immoral.

They were democrats so I see no problem with it. Next let's get rid of the democrat party.

They certainly weren't progressives or liberals were they?

In fact the progressives of the day were Republicans.

That's certainly not the case now is it?

They were progressives. Democrats wanted slavery to progress westward.

They drafted you or you went to prison. What would have been your choice?

"Marse Robert" was an exemplary owner of humans. In all this fuss it should not be forgotten that Lee was a beloved figure on BOTH sides of the ACW. It's offensive indeed to put up his statue in public areas but he does deserve some space in museums

This whole thing can be taken to the point that every thing is destroyed.

On military bases, there are numerous street names with confederate generals. Most army posts have airfields with a different names. Some of those are named after confederates. For instance Fort Bragg has two airfields. The ICAO designations are based on Bragg.

Someone wants to get rid of just about everything. The Native Americans don't want anything with an Native American Name or Columbus. Many structures such as the White House was built with slave labor.

They all remind somebody of something.

Sometimes they rioted. Both sides drafted but the custom was new and there were substantial riots in NYC and elsewhere

But you could be put in prison. Lee, by the way, did not own any slaves.

Names are easily changed and it does seem strange to have all these names of prominent REBEL soldiers on our military bases You could make an exception for some who had substantial careers afterwards, (like Lee) but it should be directed to those careers Some of the Confederate generals were brave and brilliant soldiers, make no mistake, but they were "Secesh", rebels and, let's face it, traitors to the nation we all profess to love.
