Oh great a Harvard professor says so. I don't like to read reports I want face to face reporting with discussion as well. It gives me a sense of urgency or complacency so if you guys want to attack Trump because he likes his daily reporting read and discussed so be it. It's dumb, it's political, and the Times looks stupid as hell trying to portray he ignored it. You and a few others here trying to pull your Russia Russia Russia stuff based on it is pure partisanship, we've seen his reactions to threats and we've seen you guys whining that it was to tough....

So what's wrong with his team going over it in person everyday? Rewarding Putin, lol get real he's done more damage to Russia than any democrat ever has. For the love of god Obama ended the European Missile Shield that protected the world from Russia, so just stop the BS. If he would've acted on unverified intelligence against Russia you would be calling him a warmonger or doing it to get reelected. We know your partisan games.

BS good grief you're losing your touch. What was unverified, the color the truck would be after it was blown up?

Qualifying and quantifying Democrats excel in. And Yes, Obama was speaking directly to Putin through Putin’s halfling.

Yeah, I saw that ruling, but maybe didn't give it the attention it needed.

I haven't seen any reports that Trump will win Vance. Mazars is more of a coin toss, but it's clear the courts aren't supposed to determine legislative purpose.

If Trumps wins Mazars, President Biden is going to have a very safe 4 years from any pestering, should R's retain the Senate...

...that article was not remotely about trump's unwillingness to do his job by reading his daily briefs.

The unverified intelligence was the accusation that American bases were facing an immeninent attack, planned by him.

You don't see that Putin is using Trump and knows that Trump isn't going to stand up to him? Holy ****.

This story was just doubled down on by the NYT... they are reporting names and amounts

    SNIP
U.S. intelligence reports named Mr. Azizi as a key middleman between the G.R.U. and militants linked to the Taliban who carried out the attacks. He was among those who collected the cash in Russia, which intelligence files described as multiple payments of “hundreds of thousands of dollars.” Those files were among the materials provided to Congress this week.

AND this doesn't seem to be behind the normal NYT paywall... good for them

Trump says it's a hoax. He says there is no bounty. And he should know better than Intel would because the world is in Trump's head. So he has direct access that no one else has.

Weird that you are obsessed with Russia at the same time that the Chinese took over Hong Kong and annihilated of all their freedoms. 7.4 million freedom loving people lost everything yesterday. Hong Kong was freer than America and vastly outshined our country in every meaningful metric. Freedom does not die in darkness, it dies while people howl about things that do not matter.

This is the start of Chinese hegemony (this or their INTENTIONAL release of the Corona virus in an act of war on the West). Taiwan won't last more than a few years more. China now has the confidence and power to start building an empire without regard to the impotent protestations of the West. There isn't a damn thing we will do to protect the democracies they crush.... hell our government isn't doing anything to protect it's own people's civil rights (as demonstrated by the utter debacle of the past 3 months). The one bright note is that we finally will get some refugees that actually contribute to our country.

It is utterly shocking to me the fascination that the left has for Russia. It would have been like America fear-mongering about Italy while Germany invaded Poland. It is a perspective that seems completely oblivious to the actual geopolitics in play.

Well, seems like our Intel agencies told some folks at NATO, and they took it reasonably seriously.....

    SNIP
"We were briefed [by the Americans] on a potential threat to our troops in Afghanistan from operatives potentially linked to the Russian intelligence services," one NATO military intelligence official told Insider on Monday.

"There is no indication that our troops — or any non-US NATO troops — have been targeted in these attacks, but all NATO services with casualties in Afghanistan over the past two years are currently checking for any connections."

Here's an interesting article about a Congresswoman who used to do that sort of work...

About how it should have gone...

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/slotkin-former-intelligence-briefer-presses-120840273.html

I think the clear implication is this news was put in the PDB, but back on Page 9, where they'd figure he'd never see it...

    - Trump didn't see it because he doesn't read it
    - His staff didn't bring it up orally because they know he doesn't like anti-Russian news

It's a perfect storm of a derelict administration..

    Why not both?

I think the reason many harp back to Russia, is that Trump has had no issue going after China (as he well and should), so there is no need to question his loyalties between the US and China.

    Russia OTOH....

We have financed each others enemies since Korea. Russia financed the VC when our army was in Vietnam. We financed Bin Laden and the Mujahedeen when the Russian Army was in Afghanistan. Now they are financing the Taliban when our Army is Afghanistan. So bank transfers and cash should come as surprise only to the naïve. There is NO proof of any bounty on U.S. soldiers, that part is a left wing fantasy machine made up in a feeble attempt to defeat Trump in November.

What big business do we do with Russia that we can use as leverage? All out war maybe, but the Russians have 6500 nuclear weapons. Since the US and Canada are allies and trading partners how many of them do you think are aimed at Canada?

By intel do you mean the NSA and DNI who both say the evidence of bounties is not credible and not worthy of reviewing with the president? That intel???

Well the sanctions have been working wonders on cratering their economy.

Plus, Russia and China have loved the retreat from the international pecking order it helped establish after WW2. It's how China took over the WHO, Russia invaded and took Crimea, etc..etc..

Like it or not, the US is faltering on the world stage (and some here actually prefer the isolationist ideal) and that only helps Russia/China et al
