Trump sucks on many levels, but I’ll take Trump over any Democrat.
I still need to get over FLOYD-20.

Trump presides over a nation that has one-fourth of the world's Covid-19 cases and one-fourth of the world's coronavirus deaths.

New York, New Jersey and Connecticut added travelers from California, Tennessee and six other states to its quarantine list Tuesday morning, pushing the total to 16 states representing 48% of the U.S. population.

Travelers from the affected states will now have to isolate for 14 days upon arriving in the three northeastern states, doubling the original list of eight states included in the joint travel advisory issued last week.

The European Union will open its borders to visitors from 15 countries as of Wednesday, but not to travelers from the United States.

Funny how things work out. For months Trump urged Biden to stop hiding and come out of the basement, as the former vice-president was following an old political axiom. If one's opponent is busy losing the election, don't interfere.

Biden has left his basement and is speaking out on Trump's mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic.

    Now Trump is in hiding.

    So are his supporters.

They’ll open only when the US opens. Did you forget how outraged Europeans were when Trump closed the doors? They closed the borders only because the US closed the doors.

This is a brief synopsis chronicling Trump's incompetence. Much more could have been added, but to list all of Trump's failures as President would require a book. Here is the interesting part.

Not one Trump follower challenged anything in the analysis or the posts that followed. This means, reluctantly or not, they agreed with the analysis. Most focused their attention on me.

Today, SecState Mike Pompeo supported Trump and the White House by saying, among other things, intelligence needed to be verified before Trump is informed. Wow! Big shock there. The lapdog, Pompeo, is supporting Trump.

This is what happens when a diplomat is handling an intelligence matter. Why is the secretary of state dealing with this issue? Where is the Director of National Intelligence? State is the consumer of intelligence, not its producer. Intelligence is generated by various agencies led by the DNI.

Trump says the whole thing is a hoax created by the "fake news."

Members of Congress have been briefed on this "hoax," er, threat.

The White House, in its attempt to cover for a President who doesn't read, is digging itself a hole that is getting deeper by the day.

For the moment, let's assume the White House is correct. There is a danger if the President is not informed until intelligence becomes fact, meaning verified. The perfect example is provided in the quote.

If Trump is only getting intelligence that has been verified as true, how much intelligence is the President not getting?

Is the White House going to stick with this story?

Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive!

How do people call an economy that is leaving so many behind a "good economy?" It blows my mind.

    Breaking News!

After five days of silence on the national crisis, Trump finally addressed the Covid-19 pandemic. Nothing has changed. Where the virus is concerned, Trump lives in his own little world.

First comes the issue with the face mask, which Trump refuses to wear. Backpedaling at light speed, he reversed himself in the Fox interview. He told FOX Business’ Blake Burman on Wednesday he has worn one in the past and the only reason he doesn’t wear one more often is because everyone gets tested before meeting with him.

The public saw Trump wearing a mask once. Not exactly a stirring example from our President. He has told the public he won't wear one. "I didn't want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it (face mask)," Trump, May 21.

But that is all in the past. “I mean, I would have no problem. Actually, I had a mask on. I sort of liked the way I looked, OK? I thought it was OK,” Trump said. “It was a dark, black mask, and I thought it looked OK. Looked like the Lone Ranger. But, no, I have no problem with that. I think -- and if people feel good about it, they should do it.”

Boy, that is taking the bull by the horns and advising Americans what they should do for themselves and others. Bravo, Mr. President.

Trump leads the nation with a quarter of world's coronavirus cases and a quarter of the world's deaths due to the virus.

Moving on, he told Burman, "We did it all right. I think we’re going to be very good with the coronavirus. I think that at some point that’s going to sort of just disappear, I hope."

“I think we’re going to have a vaccine very soon, too,” Trump added.

Trump's medical expert on the subject, Dr. Anthony Fauci, says we may have a vaccine by Jan. 1, he hopes. Then comes the problem of distribution to roughly 200 million Americans, adding another six months to a year.

    We hope.

Trump lives in an alternate universe. He should go back into hiding. Tweet something. He serves no purpose out in the open, and he embarrasses himself and the American people.

I honestly think he is not well. The reader can judge.

    Just how dumb is Trump?

Or, perhaps a better question might be, how dumb does he think Americans are? It is truly amazing the amount of lies and gross exaggerations he tries to pass off to the American people. It is self-evident that not even his gullible base believes this crap.

Fox reports, "He ominously warned of a "crash" on par with the 1929 nosedive that coincided with the Great Depression — if he loses reelection." The crash has already occurred, and it occurred on his watch. The unemployment figures from March and April are comparable to the Great Depression.

Fox continued, "Trump went on to celebrate "outstanding news from all over our country," as nearly 5 million jobs were added in the month of June." Trump is clueless. 20 million Americans lost their jobs in March and April, and he is celebrating the fact that 4.9 million were rehired. That is great news, but not a cause for celebration under the circumstances.

In addition, many of our largest states -- California, Texas, Florida, Arizona, and others -- are closing down businesses again because of a surge in the coronavirus. The U.S. set a dubious record of over 50,000 new cases in just one day. Trump seemed unaware of all this.

Trump conceded that the coronavirus outbreak wasn’t over but insisted “we’re putting out the fires.” Once again, Trump is blissfully unaware. It’s more like a blaze raging out of control.

A huge problem is the positivity rate is increasing, not decreasing. So much for Trump's argument that more testing results in more cases. That's true, but the positivity rate is scary.

Florida reported more than 10,000 new cases Thursday, with nearly 17% of tests coming back positive. Arizona had more than 3,300, with 25% being positive. The latest daily figures from Texas showed 8,076 new cases. Nearly 14% of tests in recent days have found an infection. Over 131,000 Americans have died from the virus. United States Coronavirus: 2,832,889 Cases and 131,407 Deaths - Worldometer

Trump on Wednesday told Fox Business that “we’re going to be very good with the coronavirus” and “at some point that’s going to sort of just disappear.” On Thursday he described the coronavirus as more of a nuisance than a crisis. Trump just wants the problem to go away. It is hindering his reelection.

“Every company here today embodies true American excellence," Trump said. Then he went on to celebrate the "outstanding news from all over our country," and a recovery from severe unemployment that befell Americans in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Whe-e-e!

Trump brags about his ability to lie and make gross exaggerations. To him, it's a talent.

“The final key to the way I promote is bravado. I play to people’s fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That’s why a little hyperbole never hurts. People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole. It’s an innocent form of exaggeration—and a very effective form of promotion.” “I Call It Truthful Hyperbole”: The Most Popular Quotes From Trump’s “

Trump gleefully explained his trip to South Dakota and Mount Rushmore during his press conference today. “We’re going to have a tremendous evening. It’s going to be a fireworks display like few people have seen. It’s going to be very exciting. It’s going to be beautiful,” he said.

About 7,500 other spectators will be there, too, having won an online ticket lottery sponsored by South Dakota's state tourism department.

South Dakota Republican Gov. Kristi Noem told Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday that face masks and social distancing will not be required.

Former 2012 Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain as a co-chair of Black Voices for Trump, was one of the surrogates at Trump's June 20 rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Cain is in an Atlanta hospital being treated for the coronavirus.

Roughly two weeks is the incubation period for Covid-19.

At today's press conference Trump suggested people should wear a mask. He, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow walked onto the stage in close proximity with one another. None were wearing a face mask.

Mnuchin said that Trump didn't have to wear a mask because he is the President, but everyone else has to. "Because he's the president of the United States and people are not around him close and the people who are around him are tested," Mnuchin said. "I don't think he needs to wear a mask, but the rest of us – absolutely."

    Comedy Central will return tomorrow.

Trump's followers have gone completely silent on this thread. Here is just one reason why.

Over 130,000 Americans have died during the pandemic as Trump heads for Mount Rushmore. He and 7,500 mask-less Americans will be watching a fireworks show in close quarters.

The Republican governor says social distancing and masks are not required.

In the midst of a pandemic that is surging across the United States, I can't think of anything more stupid. A lot of Republicans, including Trump, will be looking for work after November 3, although a record number have quit while Trump has been President.

Fox reports, "Vice President Mike Pence delayed a trip to Arizona earlier this week after several of the Secret Service agents tasked with preparing the itinerary tested positive for the coronavirus or showed symptoms, according to reports."

Last month, up to 15 agents who tested positive for the virus loaded into cars and drove themselves home, avoiding flights after becoming infected while preparing for Trump's campaign rally in Tulsa.

In South Dakota, agents have been on the ground for days preparing for Trump's visit to Mount Rushmore.

The health peril has emerged as a sore point for many within the agency, where sources describe a heightened sense of anxiety and anger over being put at what some view as senseless risk. There is "growing anger and frustration" among some in the Secret Service at what they consider to be "unnecessary trips and exposure" because of Trump and Pence's travel.

Then there are the thousands of Americans attending these events. Do either Trump or Pence care? There is no evidence of that.

Before leaving for Mount Rushmore, Trump warned Americans about "roving gangs of wise guys, anarchists & looters, many of them having no idea what they are doing, indiscriminately ripping down our statues and monuments to the past.”

Trump lives in a different world than the rest of us.

    Not bad, Distraff

Of course, clueless righties like to brag about bone spurs' so-called 'strong' economy before nasty corona arrived.

LOL … they're dumber than crowbars.

The Fed had to start CUTTING interest rates in 2019, way before nasty corona, to help resuscitate the sputtering trump-gop economy.

PRO TIP: The Fed doesn't cut interest rates in truly strong economies. In fact, they normally do the exact opposite … raise them.

By the way, good to see ya, Shanks … and fine work, as usual.

Trump never actually made that promised 3% growth rate and instead averaged about the same rate as Obama's second term. The growth was also being supported by trillion dollar deficits and interest rate cuts. What matters is that Trump didn't act fast to stop the spread of the virus and didn't learn his lesson from the first wave.

False. Lower tax burden on business, reduction of burdensome regulation on business, and the USMCA.

    Russia! Russia! Putin! Putin!

The only thing that weakens NATO countries is their own unwillingness to invest in their own defense. Europe has over twice the population of the U.S., and their GDP equals ours. They can defend themselves ... if they choose to.

The previous agreement was full of holes, negotiated by the dolt John Kerry, under the pressure of wanting to sign anything during Obama's final days in office.

Ah yes, the endless mideast wars you love so much. But when you were in the Marines, you didn't get your leg blown off by an IED in some dusty shithole, ... did you. What you don't know about useless loss of life and limb by our dedicated young people could fill a book.

    Putin, Putin, Putin!!!

If I were Putin, I would prefer that the U.S. president be an aging, deteriorating man, slipping into dementia. So much more easy to manipulate.

That's ridiculous, and you contradict yourself. One of your continuing criticisms of Trump is that he doesn't listen to the permanent bureaucrats and career politicians that infest Washington. He goes his own way, and you hate that.

So what?! His personality does not effect me, my children, or my grandchildren. It will not effect my grandchildren's children. Policy does effect them.

His handling of the crisis has been imperfect, but his political opponents would have fared even worse. To Joe Biden, cutting off travel to China was an example of "hysterical xenophobia", and Nancy Pelosi told her constituents to come to Chinatown and party, everything is fine.

No, it comes from the political spectrum that starts with moderate independents.

The “Trump Death Clock” will be driven around Washington on Saturday ahead of July 4 celebrations in the city.

“Trump and his administration were advised as early as January that urgent measures were needed to stop the spread of the pandemic, but he refused to take action until mid-March, resulting in an estimated 76,000 unnecessary deaths, or 60% of the overall coronavirus death total," Public Citizen, a co-sponsor of the clock, said in a press release. "Trump has also undermined his own public health experts, pushed states to reopen early and spread misleading information about the virus."

Trump continues to live in a fantasy world all his own. In the midst of a world in which he leads a country that has a quarter of the world's Covid-19 cases and a quarter of the world's deaths caused by the virus, in a country with nearly three million cases of the virus, in a country where over 132,000 Americans have died from the virus and 600 to 1,000 die daily, Trump -- our President -- is worried about “new far-left fascism.”

It is a fantasy that he has created that has no relationship with the Democratic Party or the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, who is leading Trump by ten or more points nationally.

The Times reports, "Standing in a packed amphitheater in front of Mount Rushmore for an Independence Day celebration, President Trump delivered a dark and divisive speech on Friday that cast his struggling effort to win a second term as a battle against a “new far-left fascism” seeking to wipe out the nation’s values and history.

"With the coronavirus pandemic raging and his campaign faltering in the polls, his appearance amounted to a fiery reboot of his re-election effort, using the holiday and an official presidential address to mount a full-on culture war against a straw-man version of the left that he portrayed as inciting mayhem and moving the country toward totalitarianism."

“Our nation is witnessing a merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame our heroes, erase our values and indoctrinate our children,” Trump said, addressing a packed crowd of sign-waving supporters, few of whom wore masks. “Angry mobs are trying to tear down statues of our founders, deface our most sacred memorials and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities.”

While there has been some destruction of monuments by criminals like antifa, most of the monuments are being removed upon the orders of city mayors or governors. However, most importantly, much like any criminal organization, antifa has absolutely nothing to do with the Democratic Party or Joe Biden. Antifa is a criminal organization much like the neo-Nazis, skin-heads, and white supremacists who support Trump.

So, once again, Trump has no idea what he is talking about. He can fool his gullible base, but that is the extent of it. That is why he is losing the election to Biden in every national poll out there, including Trump-friendly Rasmussen and Harris.
