    Keep the name...

BUT, change their Mascot to a PEANUT...

    Problem taken care of...

Put a football helmet on Mr. Peanut (for a new logo)...

The Kayenta Redskins? Holy crap. I thought I would never see two NFL teams in AZ during my lifetime. Now Arizona will have the Redbirds and the Redskins.

On a side note, do you guys remember the Redskins first Super Bowl win? The MVP for that game was no other than John Riggins.

I think the Liberal left needs to demand Riggins return all his football accolades back to the NFL for his racist Mohawk haircut.

On second thought, Lucy, Pig Pen, Snoopy and Charlie Brown might file an injunction.

They were the Redskins for over 60 years, and they're still Redskins. I imagine how it'd feel if my Eagles had the woke culture try to change our name(hint: It wouldn't go over well, there's no team more popular in Philadelphia than the Eagles).

So I'm gonna defend the Skins fans in Landover, they don't need the blessing of Woke culture to play in DC or anywhere else.

It was, America has just become less racist. Jesus would you have argued after the civil war why slavery suddenly become wrong also? Or in the 60s wonder why blacks suddenly get to vote?

Probably won’t be too long before “White Outs” are banned in hockey.

Wow, if I didn’t know this was a Phoenix (now known as Arizona) Coyotes playoff game I could swear this was a Finland vs Norway game. Try and find Waldo in the stands.

I think every team should have an offensive name, so everyone can get over themselves and quit worrying about petty BS.

With the likes of Smoltz, Maddox, Glavin, Chipper Jones, Deon Sanders, Derek Brooks and of course legendary coach Bobby Bowden will anyone think this is racist?

BTW, Florida State received permission from the Seminole Tribe to carry out these traditions.

Because it’s a derogatory term. Would a team called the slant eyes with an Asian mascot be racist?

Dan Snyder will easily win a lawsuit. Government officials trying to force a group to change its name? That is a clear 1st Amendment violation.

Do you think that its relevant whether they find the name offensive or not? You're supposed to be into the law. What do you think a court ruling would be if the Redskins decided to challenge this in a court? Government officials demanding that the Redskins change their name or they will not be allowed to use the stadium? Do you not see that as a clear violation of the 1st Amendment?

Back at the time of the indian wars and western expansion, it was akin to calling them vermin and savages and you know it. At the time, both sides were savages to each other. Doesn't make it right to haunt folks with it now. There are plenty of non offensive names that amont to the same it could be changed to. Why is it such a big deal to change it?

Because 1: it's not intended as a slur by the team or the owners. 2: The history of the Redskins is full of NA playing for the team. They loved it. 3: they've had the name for 60 years. All of thier identity, merch and history surrounds that name. They would lose all of it with a name change.

There is nothing offensive about them beyond SJW Political Correctness bs where a minority of people find the team using the name to be offensive.

I think the hilarious thing is that you don't know what the vast majority of indigenous people have actually said about this Nothing Burger nonsense, but patronizingly assume on their behalf.

    The indigenous Do. Not. Care.

Patronizing non-indigenous liberals looking to distract, divide and destroy.

It's not horribly offensive to the indigenous.

What IS horribly offensive to the indigenous?

Patronizing distractions allegedly undertaken in their name.

However, Warriors seems like a fine idea, and the fight song easily modified to accommodate:

    Hail to the Warriors, etc.

    Nope.

And it's INCREDIBLY racist, colonialist and & patronizing to speak on behalf of other cultures.

Common sense should have told you this, but I understand why it didn't.

Just FYI, the name's been controversial for 50+ years, and an ongoing battle has raged for at least this length of time.
