    It actually aged quite well.

The White House is saying that this WAS reported. That the intel folks DID have these reports.

And Trump has said NOTHING to the Russians

It wasn't brought up because it has never been confirmed. And much of the intelligence community thinks the report dubious at best. By the way you'd think if the Russians were bribing the Taliban to kill Americans that the death toll this year would be a bit higher than 2.

One further note on this malarkey, bribing the Taliban to kill Americans is the moral equivalent of bribing three year olds to eat candy.

The information was serious enough the National Security Council staff held a meeting during the spring to discuss "possible response options," including sanctions, if the intelligence developed to the point it was deemed ready to take to the President for any possible action, the official said.
Pressed on Monday whether the information was included in the President's Daily Brief -- the written document that includes the intelligence community's more important and urgent information -- White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said only that Trump "was not personally briefed."

And the White House is upset that this story LEAKED...which means it was credible

yeah but they were unverifiable rumors...therefore never reached the president. NATO looked into it as well and came to the same conclusion.

sorry we don’t go to war over unverifiable rumors. the NY Times thought they had some sort of bombshell...turns out to be another desperate empty shell.

one has to wonder why the Times is so desperate....do you think they might know something you don’t? they must really be worried about quid pro joe

Early in his term, Trump's briefers discovered that when his oral briefing included intelligence related to Russia's malign activities against the United States, including evidence of its interference in US politics, Trump would often blow up at them, demanding to know why they kept focusing on Russia and often questioning the intelligence itself, multiple former administration officials said.

"The President has created an environment that dissuades, if not prohibits, the mentioning of any intelligence that isn't favorable to Russia," a former senior member of Trump's national security staff told me.

In response, his briefers -- who must make difficult judgment calls every day on which intelligence to highlight to the President -- reduced the amount of Russian-related intelligence they included in his oral briefings, instead often placing it only in his written briefing book, a document that is provided daily and sometimes extended to several dozen pages containing the intelligence community's most important information.

But his briefers discovered over time that he often did not read the briefing book, leaving him unaware of crucial intelligence, including threats related to Russia and other parts of the world.

I expect him to take it seriously.

I expect him to denounce this practice and send a strong warning to Putin.

I expect him to have his people look into it ...

I expect him to protect our troops and our nation

Why would Trump brief Congress if it's propaganda? Why hasn't Liz Cheney called it propaganda? Why hasn't the UK called it propaganda?

Why do you insist on the term "rumors?" It doesn't bolster your (unsourced) argument. It weakens it.

Intelligence includes verified and unverified information. If all information were verified before being presented to the POTUS, it would cease to be intelligence and would become factual. The PDB includes intelligence reports, which are the responsibility of the POTUS.

What do you think intelligence is? Calling it "rumors" indicates a misunderstanding of the gathering and distribution of intelligence.

My god. You have nothing but repetitious nonsense. Not worth replying any further.

I'll leave you with this. Call the FBI and tell them you plan to blow up an airliner. Tell us how it plays out. Let us know how the government responds to your rumor.
