Some people are better at throwing balls through hoops, and some are better at putting rockets into space. People should follow their own dreams and use their own talents, not follow some weird racist quota for the sake of diversity. If someone wants to be a scientist, be a scientist. If no one of a certain race shows up, that is because no one of that race wanted to be a scientist. That should be the end of it. Having diversity for diversity’s sake is just dumb.
The OP is not about his, nor is it about Uranus. Although you may wish it to be, this topic is not about Uranus. It's not all about Uranus. And the fact that you brought up Uranus leads me to believe there is something Freudian happening here.
The OP is about astronomy and if you do not understand that the study of planets is a part of astronomy. So take your Freud and go study your planets.
True. There will always be intolerance. There will always be those that do not like those that are different to than them. It's part of human nature. We as a nation have come a long way since the end of slavery. We are not the same nation and we should be proud of that.
However- there is a great deal of basis in cultural differences, which is not the same as social, although they interact. Scientifically, the way a species lives, starting with the environment and surroundings, affects their habits and values over time. Given enough time, we know that physiological changes occur within a species when the same species develops in different environments. This starts with the mental perceptions and resulting habits, which develop as cultural behaviors, but also changes their social behaviors. Over time these also change physical characteristics. Darwin documented this with birds- where one species, when some of them become isolated from others in different physical environments, develop adaptations first in habits and techniques necessary to survival, then in physiology to better utilize those things. Things like the calls and mating/courting behaviors, not directly related to survival- changed too. Still the same species in their basic genetics, but adapted to their unique situation; with both social, cultural and some physical differences. Still the same- but not the same. These defining characteristics are recognized and respected in nature- thus over time individual species of things like big cats become more individual, more specific, rather than cross-breeding and becoming all identical genetic pool. Despite that they originated from one species, the differences over time eventually become very distinctive. Races will always be an identity for all people regardless of color. Nobody will ever become genuinely racially color-blind- but it is how races relate to each others that determines the compatibility. There is no overdue bill from the past that must be paid; that illusion only deepens the division between races- and it's only demanded by people unwilling to take responsibility for themselves today. In natures world, that habit brings about the extinction of a species or sub-species. We will always be different, but we can also all be respectable, and respected. That is our choice, not natures.
