Went a little nuts with the berries. Strawberry, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. They're certainly sweet & plentiful this year!

Got the fixins for a 4th drink special. Looks yummy! To hell with social distancing... let's drink!

Again for the fellars.Tomatoes are the enemy of Adult Males.
Like sugar is to the body. Not overnight but definatley over time.
If an adult male has arthiritis eating tomatoes will aggrevate it no end.
We did not know this 4-5 years ago.Just like we did not know
a lot things that cause problems. We know have ways to combat
Tinnitus.Didn't have that 4-5 years ago.We now have supplements
to keep from weakening our bones and skeletol.
We also know that Lasik eye surgery is not necessary. There are
other methods.Plus Lasik like Knee replacement surgery is basically
temporary.Making sure we move around daily { Not rest } is the best
medicine to keep from causing Inflamation.Because Inflammation is
due to lack of oxygen generated by movement or exercise.Don't move around
much and you will slowly degrade yer musculature like tendons and connecting
    tissue.

Granted Beefsteak Tomateers in mid summer should be a must.
But then so did most adults from WWII to the 70's concerning
Cigarettes.Nicotine is not the problem with Cigs. It's the Tobacco.
    That is what causes cancer.

Cigarets are also the miracle drug for war that most SF writers go on about. It keeps you awake and alert and yet is pleasantly relaxing but with no debilitating intoxication or stupor to speak of. This is why it was put in WWII soldiers rations and some were actually ordered to take it up. That's how they got my father started. Only better drug for soldiers is meth, but it can affect judgment. The Germans had that

Beefsteak tomato bisque with fresh basil from the same garden is ambrosia of the gods. If it's going to kill me I'll die happy

You can't see it, but there's a hummingbird going at the purplish flower.

    Well I dint buy a watermelon the other day.But while at Wal*Mart { Wally World }
I did hear a loud noise.A looked around to see what it might be.
Some Guy had a watermelon in his hands as if He almost lost it.
Said something to that effect as he jogged over to his cart
    clutching said watermelon.

Bet my Watermellon story is Better than Yourn.
Bet it is ... Huh ... Huh.
    Bet It Is !

My squash, cucumbers, and zucchini are finished I still have okra, peppers, a tomato that doesn't want to do anything, and eggplant. I have started thinking about a fall garden. I do have a volunteer cantaloupe that I don't think will do anything. It started growing in the compost barrel it is a wait and see project.

Might be but we were coming back from town as a truck loaded with watermelons lost one just as we passed by. It smashed on the road. This time of year almost everyone has watermelon stories.. At least yours had a happy ending the guy kept his melon.

I think I'm going to plant some broccoli for fall. I have this place and it is all rotten wood chips and hay.

I think Rod Serling would tend to disagree.
He was a 5 pack a day SF fellar.
I'm reminded of the Jerry Lewis vehicle :
    - Cracking Up - { 1983 } Where Lewis plays a sort of neurotic.
He was a 5 pack a day smoker in his Prime, also.
There's a scene out in the hallway where Dick Butkus
plays an anti-smoking enforcer.I think he's in the hallway
near a watercooler having a casual smoke.Lewis and him
engage in small talk.Butkus asks him ... How many packs a day do
you smoke? .Lewis says as he almost takes pride in the fact.
    Five Packs.
    Butkus goes off.Has a conniption.Yells out ...
Five Packs a day! What Are You ... Some kinda NuT!

I am thinking turnips, rutabagas, and mustard greens. There are quite a few farmers that plant fall tomatoes. Our pecans and scuppernongs are looking good for a good harvest. I have been looking at the wild grapes and if we don't get a drought we will have some wild grapes for jelly. The wild cherries didn't produce this year, must have been the COVID19.

They're something, aren't they? They can scare the **** out of you if they buzz right by your head because you think sure they're a murder hornet attacking, but there's nothing more fascinating on a summer's day.

Distancing hell. My diabetes just died itself.

But it doesn't bother the blood sugar if there's lots of alcohol in it, right? :alcoholic: :p

I used to plant turnips and cabbage. But broccoli is my favorite. I am going to set some crawdad traps after the holiday and try a few ideas with them. I got a bunch of them already. An older black lady taught me how to cook shrimp once and I will try that on crayfish. Cook em, chill them, and then warm them in clarified butter. Should taste like lobster. Then some fried bluegill with hush puppies and Cole slaw.

We have a sugar-free version but it substitutes liquor for sweetener, so you'll need a designated driver. :alcoholic:
