Three points here.

1) Stop the insults. I do not reject vaccines and I am not using any remotely resembling their talking points.

2) There are multiple instances - including a study of ~300 soldiers from that Navy ship that got infected - where a significant percentage never developed antibodies (it was around 40% that did not develop antibodies if my memory serves) and thus why I said that we do not know whether infection automatically confers immunity.

3) We also have studies to support the notion that any antibodies that do form will disappear about 2-3 months. We simply do not have enough data on whether those people who formed antibodies in the first place, whether the memory portion of the immune system, will be capable of recognizing a future infection and then producing more antibodies. Hence why I said that we do not know how long the immunity gets conferred.

If you need sources for any aspect of this post, try to avoid the direct or indirect insults and just ask.

 

Hmm...no? I don't know why the mask would be more effective as you get closer. They would be more effective with the social distancing.

Yes, I support those who want to use face shields. I have seen data that denotes cloth masks actually do a slightly better job of reducing the range of any sneeze droplets you create, but it's like a difference of 8 inches vs 3 inches, so go for the face shield if that's your preference.

I think at some point there might be bloodshed over this. Someone's going to lose someone close to them, they'll blame the selfish people who wont wear masks or social distance, and they'll respond in some horrifically violent way like a random shooting or worse. If that day ever comes I cant say right now whether or not I wouldn't be just a little bit understanding of the alleged suspect's motives.
