    It laid the foundation.
    Redlining as policy didn't end until 1970 or so.
    But continued covertly. Sometimes in present day.

    I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. There is absolutely nothing racist about the National Anthem. It is for all AMERICANS, not for certain races. Being American has nothing to do with race.

    If the people wanting this song to be played believe it to be the black national anthem, and that is the context it is being played in, then that is what it is.

    When did he say other races are not American??? He's been nothing but supportive of all races. What he doesn't support is rioting and criminal activity, as well as racial extremism. Do you support these things? Show me where he claims other races are not American.

    But if they were to kneel during the national anthem and say it's to protest racial injustice and nothing else, then what they say means nothing.

    That's being disengenuos. Is it not?

    The “Black National Anthem” is a hymn titled Lift Every Voice and Sing. It is a song thanking God for delivering Blacks from the travails of slavery. It reaffirms their faith that God will continue to lead them in the proper direction and concludes with the pledge to continue to be true to their God and to their native land. It does not call for violence, revolution, or for creating a separate black nation.It is being presented here as something it is not.

    No, he is speaking out against intimidation and criminal vandalism. People can protest all they want. They can't just go destroying **** because they don't like it. How about they follow legal channels and set up a vote to remove monuments legally? Crazy idea, I know.
