Not to mention, constantly touching them with their grubby ass fingers. I wear one if the store is crowded, on account of living with an elevated risk person but with a beard, it's tricky and I AINT shaving!!!

Don't worry, he'll be fine. Trump assured you that 99% of coronavirus cases are totally harmless. Don't you trust your president? He's a smart and very insightful president. The best people tell me that. The best people. They know. They know. You know? I am very coherent. The best coherent. People tell me I am the coherentiest of them all. The mirror told me. The best mirror.

I think you should give "your" avatar back to @Kurmugeon

Well, be that as it may, I have known him on several forums for years, when I saw your first post I was flummoxed. Not saying you "stole it" per se. But Kurmugeon is a fixture. Hope he is OK.

Don't know him. My username is also my real name, and that name means "bear". So I picked the google image search result of a bear that I liked the best back in 2016 to replace an old avatar. Been sticking to this one since. And if he is your friend or someone you respect, then for his and your sake, I hope he is ok, too.

Just a "forum friend" but he has had it a very long time. Just initially confusing is all. Anyhow, not the end of the world.

That's a revolting thing for you, and those who agree with you, to say about anyone.

There's plenty of people I dislike but I would never wish any of them to be ill or dead.

Because the foreigners, as you call them, may just not be so blind and believe every BS and cheer every crap Trump makes, like many Americans?
Because foreigners stand on facts and truths ... So things that can be proven and not on stupid chatter, stupid claims and only half facts?
Because Foreigner drive all politicians who are convicted of the lie, generally into the sea and not act like many Americans at Trump, with facts if they are uncomfortable to dismiss as fake news ... and if that no longer works, just shrug the shoulders?

Can it just be that, for legitimate reasons, we foreigners are far more critical than many Americans who see Trump as a kind of political god?
Especially when Foreigners are victims of all the lies?

    Correct ...
You have to earn respect ... and to be the king of lies and fake news like Trump doesn't deserve respect ;-)

Well, aren't you foreign folks just so much better and "enlightened" than we Americans? Bet your 4th of July had no guns and BBQ and beer and fireworks.

I have agreed with a few of your points, but Trump can't be blamed for the debate on masks. Fauci said a couple of times that people didn't need to walk around with a mask and that people put too much faith in the protection of masks.

Exactly and he admitted he changed his tune to avoid a run on PPE. Would you believe the local Circle K is selling 5 mask for 7$ or a 50 pack for 50$? Price gouging after a hurricane is verboten but that's cool?

That depends entirely on the country concerned ... there are differences between these "foreign" countries ... but everyone celebrates their national holiday differently, which is normal.
Beer and BBQ is everywhere and even without a national holiday ... fireworks sometimes ... but guns rather not. Most other countries just have a functioning gun law and not such a BS in the constitution that gives every jerk the right to a gun with a reason that is rubbish... unless he is one of the few exceptions in the USA that do not have the right.
And where you mention beer and guns ... really smart and well-founded that someone with age 18 can legally buy as many gns as the person want, can even become a soldier and go to war, etc. ... but If the the same person want to buy beer in the USA at age 18, then this is prohibited because it is only legally permitted from age 21 on!

It's not about running around with a mask from morning to night ... who says something like that also claims nonsense ...
But if you move around in public spaces where adhering to "social distancing" is problematic or cannot be complied with, then a mask must exist.
Take, for example, the New York subway or other public transport where most are mega full ... or in the streets of New York and other cities where it is totally full etc. ... or in a taxi or at work in the Open-plan office when dealing with colleagues ... or in the crowds at Wal Mart etc. ...

    And again at this point:
The mask requirement LESS is about not getting infected, because this protection is only provided by the corresponding medical masks, such as those used in operations in hospitals.
It is about the fact that everyone is potentially infected and without any mask in front of the mouth and nose, you spray the viruses by coughing and sneezing and also by simply breathing in the aerosol about 2 to 3 meters. With any mask it's only 1 meter or less. This significantly reduces the risk of unknowingly infecting others (don't forget: after being infected by someone else, you can infect others a short time later, but since the disease usually only breaks out after about 10 to 14 days, you don't know without a current test that you are infected!)

Anyhow, we enjoyed our Nations Birthday, in the fashion our Founders intended. As always, I loaded my black powder revolver, with blank rounds (toilet paper wad over the BP load) and let her rip....now i have to spend an hour cleaning the damn thing

In my country it is questionable whether you have the right to a gun at all ... but it doesn't matter. You have your country, I have my country ... but my opinon about your gun law is clear. For example ... in my home city which has over 1 million people living here, the Polive used in complete 2019 27 times a gun of what was 19 times against wild anmimal like wld boars who became dangerous. Not a single American citiy of about that seize is able to match this.

In my country, the national holiday is a bit more complicated. From a date point of view, it should be November 9th as far as history is concerned ... because on November 9th, 1848 the first revolution with a democratic background in the German states failed (a unified Germany did not exist yet, but various kingdoms and principalities such as Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony, Hesse etc.).
On November 9, 1918, the emperor and all monarchs were deposed in Germany and the first German republic was proclaimed.

Then two bad things came on that date ...
On November 9, 1923, Hitler attempted a coup in Munich, which failed and ... on November 9, 1938, there was a very bad program against Jews, where thousands of synagogues were burned down and thousands of Jews were killed or seriously injured.

And then came November 9, 1989 with the fall of the Berlin Wall ...

So we put the national holiday in Germany on October 3rd.

However, on May 8th, 1945, we Germans were totally and thoroughly driven out of every exaggerated national pride, nationalism and militarism, especially by you Americans. You Americans are not blamed for that, don't worry ;-)
With us you will never see any public military parade of the German armed forces, as you did or like for example on July 14 in Franceis done and in many other countries. This is unthinkable here ... and there is nothing of our military history to be proud for in the end ... and at least military is more likely accepted as a necessary, but not loved issue in population.

I know this guy by chance ... But where we were at gun law ...

A sling shot is on first view allowed in Germany ... BUT:
If a sling shot has a support for the arm or only the wrist (for better aiming), it already falls under the German Weapons Act like a gun. The very possibility of actually installing such a support on a sling shot "collides" with the German Weapons Act. ... Thus the manufacture, sale, purchase, including import and owning of a sling hot with armrest is not permitted in Germany.

One of the main reasons is that such modified sling shots were used by violent left-wing extremists in riots against the police (and sometimes by neo-Nazis from their scene in other riots too) ... and then steel bullets of about half an inch were shot at policemen ... which can quickly be fatal or cause serious injuries.

As for my signature ... I have already received some nasty comments because of what I can think of to say that this great hero Trump would go to hell etc. ;-)

See? The most polar opposites can find common ground, somewhere.

Odd we kinda found it in ideas born of gun restrictions.

The virus isn't dangerous. I'm told here that it only kills 0.1% of those infected.

    It's just a little flu.

And this is the perfect opportunity for Trump to prove that hydroxychloroquine, with disinfectant injections, works.

Masks don't offer much protection from the virus, they protect others form you.

Trump probably gets tested every day as does Biden. So wearing it is just for show for them. Further Biden is often seen with it pulled below his chin which makes no real difference because he likely doesn't have the virus but it defeats the purpose when it's not covering his mouth and nose.
