Removing the electoral college was universally supported until trump “won”. Even by republicans

The correct statement is “the only reason people want to keep the electoral college is because of political posturing”.

I thought they never were bound by the popular vote.

All the sources I have found indicate this, do you have a source to the contrary?

Because the people don’t write the laws, politicians do.
Politicians that are ruled by what benefits or could potentially benefit them in the future.

So I take it you don’t have a source?

oh so we don't live in a constitutional republic?
they could be equally benefited by popular vote or electoral college.

it says Republicans wanted to change the Constitution to remove the electoral college no I don't have a source for that but my claim isn't extraordinary yours is. So you're going to need extraordinary proof not some dumb line chart you could have gotten anywhere.

My screen name is “All Lives Matter” because the left says it is racist and that only “Black Lives Matter”.

As far as rapists, drug dealers, and Terrorists...
I have no problem with locking them up and tossing away the key or giving them the death penalty.”

    Well Pete Buttigieg apologized.....

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ny...tics/pete-buttigieg-all-lives-matter.amp.html

Imagine apologizing for saying “All Lives Matter

It is Bernie Sanders who wants to let baby rapists and the Boston Marathon Bombers to be able to vote.

    You get my drift snowflake?

I posted a chart derived from two established and respected polling firms vs your opinion.

I guess if that’s the route you want to take, be my guest.

The great thing about polls: even idiots can participate. It does not mean that they have a clue as to what they are actually commenting on, but the can partake. Just look at the video of the guy getting signature from useful idiots on a petition that says the "white male" crosswalk figure is racist and sexist.

    The reality was evidenced.
If you have something to counter it I welcome new facts.

    Your opinion however, isn’t fact.

that's what I'm questioning do you have anything else to present to show me this?
this isn't how this works. You making outrageous claim and don't really support it and I doubt it.

If that causes you some existential angst then you need to do with that. I don't care.

You're claiming still extraordinary and your evidence is not.

I don't have to present any evidence to doubt your claim.

that's a stupid point because I never said it was.

All I said was I doubt your claim. And if the trifle of evidence you presented is enough for you not to doubt it go on about your Merry way. It's not enough for me.

    Source 2: https://www.people-press.org/2018/04/26/5-the-electoral-college-congress-and-representation/

Let me know how many more sources you need for it to be “valid” and have more weight than your personal opinion

That fits nicely with the current republican platform that the majority shouldn’t be able to represent themselves. Not long ago it was Democrats calling voters too stupid to understand — looks like a reversal, must just be the party that is in charge feels that way.

Any scrap of evidence would be good.

Polls can be skewed. Believe it or not we elect our leaders mostly based on popular vote. The only one that isn't is the president. If people were really concerned about it politicians would have run on the platform to amend the Constitution we would have elected some and at least seen an attempt.

If you presented a poll that said men like getting their testicles hit with a hammer I would doubt that too.

You make an extraordinary claim you have to present extraordinary evidence.

I never said you were anything, just that you were referring to people not voting the way you think they should as idiots.

Nothing like getting you to remove yourself from the discussion. That's called absolute dominance.

Again if this opinion was popular politicians would have ran on that platform they would have been elected and we would have had that the amendment but we didn't so it's not popular. To hell with polls.

Na, it’s called being a troll.

If you are not interested in fact or discussion why are you here, either to troll or just hear yourself speak.
    Either way I’m uninterested.

Yeah people with weak arguments and extraordinary claims tend to call me names.

Opinion polls aren't fact. They've been wrong before. So you're quoting something that's not a fact and that has been wrong before.

Then you're calling me names because I'm pointing that out.

If you are so emotional you can't actually debate why are you here?

Less than a year ago you said it was a great day for the Republic that states could not punish faithless electors.

How do you feel now that there is a 9-0 vote in SCOTUS against what you said was great last August? Are all those conservative judges idiots?

People like Scuzzy John Kasich and Pierre Delecto de Romney who try to go against the will of the voters and overthrow convention nominations make me sick.
