Does it matter? Why did you post it? To scare folks? I think that actually was your intent. And when no one bit, you got what? Angry? Who are we to say that a group of folks who are protesting peaceably with long weapons isn't something that has to be scary? I mean, y'all went berserks when it was white folk in AnnArbor... I recall this clearly. But for those of us who support the second amendment why should this be an image that would frighten us? Or did you just inadvertently put a post up that demonstrates your own issues with racism?

Many people were clan members. The south had the most.
The south had traitors to the USA, they started a war with the USA so they could continue to own black people.
And when they lost, the south took to KKK so they could lynch blacks. The south, what a great place to be racist.

Hmm... I understand there were big words used in the OP, but I don't see folks being fearful. So why did you post it again? I saw folks making fun of some of the behaviors there looks like perhaps there was even intimidation being displayed. But, I don't see that anyone was arrested, and frankly. the real conversation was around can these folks have a peaceful assembly. I say sure. why not? Why try to make this a way to instill fear in others?

Not one democrat, northern or southern, house or senate, voted for the 14th amendment. The KKK was originally formed to terrorize republicans, black and white, for sympathizing with black causes. Nearly 1/4 of those lynched by the KKK were white.

In recent history. A couple decades ago, the state of La elected a former KKK leader to it's legislature. As a Republican.

If you're so inclined to throw out rotten political parties. I don't care about political parties. Both of them we have in USA are crap. But you seem to be in love with one.

We now have a Republican president amping up a race war, telling those who want traitor statues removed from the south they won't be allowed to do that.

He, this republican president, wants to keep those statues of traitors to the USA intact. And many of his supporters want the same thing.

Why to republicans want to idolize the traitors to the USA, that started a war, so they could own black people. And according to you, those traitors we democrats.
Why are republicans idolizing democrats? They were racists.

If they are not felons, they can fill out form 4473, pass the NCIS check, the second amendment allows them to do so.

A gun to hunt is one thing, a gun to feel safe or to imagine you may fight the government is another thing entirely. I have no idea how a normal person could feel that a gun protects them. A gun in hand is an invitation for another person with a gun to attack. A gun to fight your own government is a joke. Revolutions happen not because the people are armed but because they are united against a common foe. The idea that a gun makes my life safe is something I have never, ever considered. A gun to me is like an extension of your own internal insecurities. It is a sign of weakness in a modern society. We are not living in a shamba in Kenya or an apocalyptic society like Somalia. If you need a gun to feel safe or powerful, you need to take a deep look inside yourself. BTW, a gun in a shamba is hardly ever needed, I just mentioned it so that people could understand that even the presence of lions, hyenas, leopards, elephants and hippos did not create a market for guns in Kenya.

I bet if home invaders kicked in your door and a gun was the difference of being able to protect yourself and loved ones VS being a victim, your tune would change.

If the Russians invaded and over ran us I might need a gun too. If a grizzly bear somehow walked from Montana to my house, tore up my kitchen and starting chewing on my leg, a gun might be handy.

All good and well, one of those things where it's better to have and not need, than need and not have.

You act as though violent crime is simply some statistical anomaly, dont would be victim's lives matter? Should they simply be a victim because you dont like guns and think only hunters need them? You act as though ugly and evil are extremely rare, in the world.

Are you aware that about 25% of the people lynched by the KKK were Jews, Catholics and white Republicans, that were fighting for civil rights for blacks? They also lynched Hispanics.

I have no love for republicans. But I do have a well-founded and healthy disgust for democrats given their horrible history, but especially their current state.

Uh, Democrats put up those things. The only reason I lament tearing them down is, Democrats put up those things and I don't want YOU to be able to say they didn't put up those things, or burned a cross in my yard when my father refused to discriminate.

Anyway, I can respect Columbus for what he did.

Remember, MoHamMad sitting in the Mosque while black slaves were paraded? Take that down.
    Oh, forgot:

“The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." (Obama)

"The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of [those that believe blacks are Kenites the descendants of Cain and the mark is upon them]." (Clinton)

I can also respect Rommel "The Desert Fox," General Lee, and can remember the black teacher that took us to see Lester Maddox ride a bicycle backward, without being a Nazi or a Racist Southern Democrat. Simple fact is we kicked Yankee butt for quite a while, and that was about the only thing the South had to brag about, oh, and a cool submarine and Ironclad.

PS, The Black teacher's name was Mrs. White, the white librarian's name was Mrs. Black; how I remember it so well.

No they were Confederate military who had just lost a war.
A group including many former Confederate veterans founded the first branch of the Ku Klux Klan as a social club in Pulaski, Tennessee, in 1865. The first two words of the organization’s name supposedly derived from the Greek word “kyklos,” meaning circle. In the summer of 1867, local branches of the Klan met in a general organizing convention and established what they called an “Invisible Empire of the South.” Leading Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest was chosen as the first leader, or “grand wizard,” of the Klan; he presided over a hierarchy of grand dragons, grand titans and grand cyclopses.

Did you know that KKK grand wizard Nathan Bedford Forrest was honored at the 1868 DNC convention for his leadership of the klan? The DNC slogan for that convention was something like "This is a white mans world, white men should run it". (I paraphrase, from memory.) It was there that the alliance was forged between the democrats and the klan.

That's funny. I know plenty of democrats who own guns. And more over, being a republican is about more than just owning a gun. But still funny.

Why would one need to be armed to protest peacefully?

Yeah, 1868 was...a long time ago.

The slogan was: "This is a White Man's Country, Let White Men Rule"

Didn't see many republicans disputing that. More over, didn't see any republicans letting black people rule anything. They were all white people as was the times.

    Here's the 1868 democratic platform.

Here's the 1868 republican party platform for comparison.

That depends on the platform of the democrat candidate. Biden wants Robert Francis O'Rourke to be his gun czar.
