With the rabid woke culture busy pulling down Confederate monuments they seem to be overlooking to biggest and most obvious one: the Democrat Party.

It is a fact that slaves were owned by Democrats.
It is a fact that Democrats fought to expand slavery.
It is a fact that Democrats formed the KKK.
It is a fact that Democrats pushed for Jim Crow and segregation.

No, there was no big switch.

Democrats still play racial politics so why do these woke social justice types support the party of slavery while tearing down statues of Democrats?

Is the Nazi party still a big player in Germany? No. So why is the Democrat party still around in the US?

The democrat party needs to be dismantled. Every democrat in office should step down now and not run for office again.

How else can this "monument " be taken down?

Lol...Ok, let's play your little game.
So if the dems put them up, they should be able to take them down without all the whining from the right.
Why do right-wingers care what a bunch of democrat slavers put up and now want to tear down?
By the way, as a democrat, I say we blow the heads off the stone mountain carvings. We now denounce those fellow democrats as traitors.
    Off with their heads.

And let's not forget that the Democrats of that era were NOT the liberal progressive Democrats of this era

In fact the REPUBLICANS of that era were the progressives.

    Obviously not the case now

As long as every democrat in office steps down I do not see a problem with that.

Democrats were the same then as they are now. They had a progressive attitude toward expanding slavery.

He doesn't get it. I've explained it over and over to him. At this point he's just trolling.

You left out, It is a fact that Democrats created the vast welfare plantation that has helped no one, destroyed millions of American futures all in the name of a cynical ploy to create a massive voting bloc.

Democrats did not form the KKK.
A group including many former Confederate veterans founded the first branch of the Ku Klux Klan as a social club in Pulaski, Tennessee, in 1865. The first two words of the organization’s name supposedly derived from the Greek word “kyklos,” meaning circle. In the summer of 1867, local branches of the Klan met in a general organizing convention and established what they called an “Invisible Empire of the South.” Leading Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest was chosen as the first leader, or “grand wizard,” of the Klan; he presided over a hierarchy of grand dragons, grand titans and grand cyclopses.

How so? Specifically what have Dems done to create this "welfare plantation"? Are you saying Repubs have never voted for welfare policies? I believe BOTH sides are responsible for welfare programs in this country.

Robert KKK Byrd. Honored and revered dead Democrat Senator from the great state of West Virginia. Monuments, roads and buildings named in his honor. Just saying. Can people change, of course they can, do we need statues etc to remember them considering how 'evil' their past was? Ask Christopher Columbus, Robert E. Lee, Grant, Douglas etc..

We honor men for their good deeds while forgiving any bad deeds. What is wrong about that?

These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.

This quote appears on page 155 of Goodwin’s LBJ biography. The utterance was made to Richard Russell, a fellow Democratic Senator from Georgia.

Lyndon Baines Johnson (/ˈlɪndən ˈbeɪnz/; August 27, 1908 – January 22, 1973), often referred to by his initials LBJ, was an American politician who served as the 36th president of the United States from 1963 to 1969, and previously as 37th vice president from 1961 to 1963. He assumed the presidency following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. A Democrat from Texas, Johnson also served as a United States Representative and as the Majority Leader in the United States Senate.

That's not what confederate monuments are doing. They are honoring people for their bad deeds to intimidate black people. The Washington Monument honors George Washington for being a founder of this country. It does NOT honor him for being a slave owner.

He was a politician, not a nun.

You can also find quotes by him talking about "Vote Power", which he know would make a difference.

the democrats kicked them out of their party, republicans took them in

So destroying historical monuments, taking over city blocks and causing all kinds of havoc and creating a welfare state is "progressive"? I disagree. I know people like to refer to liberals as "PROGRESSIVES" but there is nothing PROGRESSIVE about their actions. I'm officially changing it to "REGRESSIVES"
They still control black people almost like slaves. I'm pretty sure that is NOT a progression.

How does a statute intimidate someone? The statues being torn down were to honor someone who fought for their ideals, ideals that were shared by half the country. Do you think a statue of MLK intimidates the KKK? Ole George Washington owned hundred of slaves. You just made my case. Abe Lincoln and Grant forgave the Rebels. Too bad the blacks can't do the same. Well most can, but those who hate the USA use the statues as a reason to destroy the USA.
