Depends on what happens in NY. If the grand jury moves to indict then the financials can be used in the trial. How soon they'd be released I suppose is entirely up to them.

Bite your tongue. We do not want to see Trump impeached again. The implications of that are he wins in November.

Most legal experts think that it will drag out in the Courts and that there is ZERO Chance that the documents will be seen before November.

The grand jury isn't immediately getting the documents... And if Trump is indicted by the state while still in office, he might actually have a case he would win. Anything indictment wise is most likely after he leaves office...

Nobody said to actually impeach him.... Just open a formal impeachment investigation.... Even the conservative judge on the district court said that's the proper forum for Congress to get Trump's financial information....

Can't wait for all of the tweets about how Kavanaugh and Gorsuch are overrated losers that he never should have appointed.

It probably would give him a pretty good boost, even if all they did was investigate and not hold it to a vote.

Not to mention what my buddy @Quadhole said about Roberts getting bonked on the head affecting his judgement...

Here is one of the stupidest things I've ever read in a SCOTUS brief (Note that I don't have a ton of experience at that). Alito dissent...

    upload_2020-7-9_11-3-53.png

Very very few of the Nations 2,300 local prosecutors would remotely have jurisdiction over anything a President (or Trump in this case) has done.... And don't forget that Trump himself wasn't even issued the subpoena...

All today really proves is that our system of justice moves MUCH too slowly...

Based on all the various court rulings I've seen, any opposite Congress (D to R or R to D) should just open a broad formal impeachment inquiry against the president on day 1 of each Congress... Just to keep things moving...

Because based on the success Trump has had in his stonewalling efforts, Congress needs to get a LOT tougher going forward...

Anyone running on this would instantly have my vote. I love this idea. We've gotten way too squeamish about impeachment. When we have people in Congress seriously arguing that abuse of power is not an impeachable offense, something needs to change.

Ovomit’s IRS had Trump’s tax returns. They have no problem leaking anything.

    Relax. It's like Geraldo's opening Capone's vault.

I just don't see it that way.... Nancy and Jerry could hold up the various rulings over the past year saying impeachment is the only way to go...

Trump should just follow through on his promise and release them then.
As Biden said today, release your taxes or shut up. Biden has released 21 years. Can trump do half? Is he at least half the man Joe is?

Apples and oranges. In Clinton the prosecutor, the Independent Prosecutor, didn't go looking for a crime as here. He was handed clear evidence of felonies which he confirmed and then took to the AG who then told him it's your investigation. He wasn't seeking tax records just to see what he could find in them.

She got part of one year. Not what trump promised he’d do.

From a civil lawsuit filed by a private citizen for acts before he was President. The court punted and sent it back to the lower court saying Vance did not present a clear enough reason.

It's sent back to the lower court with stipulations Vance must meet, it does NOT say Trump must turn them over.

For what high crime and/or misdemeanor? Even if he improperly claimed it as a business expense it would be a minor civil matter.
