    White cops in our great Northwestern US Territories (Seattle, Portland) are required to attend anti-Whiteness seminars as part of their training. No wonder they're all leaving. You know me I wouldn't say it if it weren't the truth.

    “We cannot keep people safe without keeping bad, dangerous, people off the streets,” Shea said this week. “You have a criminal justice system that’s imploding. That’s the kindest way to put it.”

    So if a police office submits their resignation and it is declined, but they fail to show up to work the next day, what will the city do? Fire them?

    I couldn’t answer that because I do not know the scope of their duties. However, if their duties include the allowing of Black children to be murdered then no, I do not think these “self proclaimed cops” are in dereliction of duty

    There would be some civil issues there, if those officers are eligible for retirement based on their collective bargaining agreement with the city, and the city denies them that opportunity, I see some lawsuits in the making.

      • Can the NYPD actually legally do that? I though they, like all public service agencies, can put a hold on legal contractual retirements only for imminent crises. What would those be in this case? The mayor won't pay you anymore, perhaps? Or the protesters won't have enough cops to throw bricks and bottles at? Those crises?
