Lack of a crime. What crime is asserted here? Absent having probable cause, and having a lack of a crime identified, this is just fishing based on Butt Hurt.

Where is your evidence that they have no probable cause?

Have you seen it in the NYTs yet? Nothing there. This is fishing. And if you think this is what prosecutors should be doing instead of actually responding to the case work they actually have crimes to respond to, this doesn't get better for you. Hope that you might find something is stupid. It's also illegal. It's called prosecutorial misconduct. It's like that ridiculous judge Stewart who is still so butt hurt that he got shut down by the appeals court he can't let his spotlight go. It's F'in ridiculous. These publicity hounds aren't in it for the benefit of the nation, they are in it for the benefit of their future speaking or consulting fees. That's actually also criminal.

New York won the ability to see the tax returns via a grand jury. You are referring to the ruling concerning Congress.

More over, you shouldn't be celebrating a win that denies voters transparency. That says more about you and Trump than anyone else.

I didn't ask for the NYT's reporting. You said this is a violation because they have no probable cause. I've asked you repeatedly for the evidence for this assertion. You clearly have none to back up your claim.

And I have repeatedly cited the lack of charges leveled by the IRS here. It kind of is their responsibility. Show me charges from them, or audit findings that support your assumption of criminality.

For sure all of Trump's (tax-)crimes will be dealt with after he is no longer President. But better late then never.

But that explains why Trump is desperate at NOT being removed in November. Forget politics, this is a criminal desperate to stay out of jail. (He will get no presidential pardon from Biden, if that indeed would work.)

As a human being, with empathy and a conscious, you have to feel sorry for Trump, sometimes. If only for a few seconds.
Trump now knows that, if he is propelled back into the real world, the wolves of the law will tear him apart.
I guess he will not have a pleasant evening.
    Commiserations.

Okay, the few seconds are over. Let's enjoy Trumps downfall.

I don't have the assumption of criminality. You don't need to be a proven criminal in order to be subpoenaed . . . Otherwise no one would ever be subpoenaed until they are already convicted. As for charges, is this really the first time you have encountered the concept of a grand jury? Their job is to determine whether or not there's enough evidence to bring charges. That's the whole point. And a couple of minutes of homework would quickly tell you what crimes the DA is investigating. Everyone else in the country can have their records subpoenaed by a grand jury. Everyone. Trump tried claiming he was above the law. He failed to make his case. Now you are here arguing that grand jury subpoenas are unconstitutional because now they apply to the Dear Leader too. Perfect.

Wait, are you thinking it is okay that judges use their positions and authority for revenge? If you say something against a judge, it is acceptable that they take that innto account when making rulings?

No, they were part of a grand jury investigation. Based partially on documents and testimony provided by his personal attorney.

The IRS isn’t charging anyone, it’s a grand jury probe.

Specifically, according to CNN, investigators are examining whether the Trump Organization falsified business records connected to the payments, which would violate the state's law.

That may be a bit presumptuous.

The way I'd put it is that most Presidents have next to nothing to hide in comparison to Donald Trump. It may take a decade or so but I'm pretty confident that most of the dirt in Mary Trump's book about her uncle Donald will eventually be corroborated by hard evidence. Regardless, most of Trump's base will still refuse to believe it.

Hmm perhaps that wasn't clear. I certainly don't mean judges should take revenge.
I mean Trump has called the US legal system (judges) fake SO MANY TIMES. He has a total disregard for what regulates law and order in the US.

Today Trump was made to eat his words as that judicial system, that he hates so much, did its job.

    Hard to call that fake.

Especially with both of his appointees siding against him.

This already affected them. Where it any other person, they could not hide behind the Oval Office when asked to produce documents when subpoenaed. Now Trump can't either. He should have never been able to in the first place. You and I certainly couldn't.

If there is nothing nefarious, why hide them from the people you want to gain the trust of?

James Carville predicted last week that if Trump's national approval rating falls much below 40% by the Republican convention, Trump won't run for reelection. Kasie Hunt said on one of the morning news shows last Sunday that she's heard from "many" Republican leaders of Congress that they're becoming so concerned about losing the Senate there's talk that if things continue to get worse, there will be serious consideration about asking Trump to withdraw.

But would the guy actually resign? Possibly if he loses in a landslide that forces him out through sheer embarrassment. However, my guess is that Trump's already planning an exist strategy just to fornicate with his enemies for a couple months. Think assertions of voting improprieties "like the world has never seen before," mass pardons of old cronies "who were seriously mistreated by the last administration" and the like. It should be great theater.

Thats how it works. Everyone is a criminal. During the investigation, they will get you on collusion, obstruction, or lying to a federal agent. When faced with prison time, you are likely to take a deal for testimony against someone else. Perhaps Dems can figure out how to suck less than Trump. This seems to be helping him.

So then what is Obama hiding then when he resues to release all of his school records? Do you see what we just did? What we just did is the A to B fallacy. Just because A is true doesn't mean B is true. But, why don't you answer my question? What are you going to do if there is nothing nefarious going on?

I really wouldn't put much faith in to anything James Carville has to say.

I certainly don't doubt that Trump is the master of theater politics, but his antics are definitely making things worse. My concern is that he will try to throw some serious monkey wrench into the mix in the next couple of months, you know, something like starting a military action somewhere to divert attention from here at home. Trump has shown no propensity to listen to sage advice from the GOP, so I doubt I can hold hope for the GOP trying to contain his irrationality.
