Even if you manage to convince yourself that it wasn't about the election, it doesn't have to be. It just needs to be a person favor. And, seeing as Trump directed them to his personal attorney, rather than a federal one, and since that same attorney had already said on national television that he wanted this investigation for the benefit of his personal client, not the country . . . yeah. He was asking for a personal favor. And he went on to withhold the Congressionally appropriated funds, something even Mulvaney admitted probably was probably illegal.
Nobody in this country missed following this case. Democrats went off into the netherworld and only gullible idiots followed them there. Some haven't made it back yet.
Well, or sure as hell not guilty. Sounds like the old kangaroo court ploy: if he denies it means he's guilty.
If the report of the phone call they themselves released indicates he's guilty, all witnesses confirm he's guilty... even though they, not only have nothing to gain, but could (and did) lose their jobs for telling the truth, and you refuse to cooperate but instead do everything you can to obstruct the investigation; no jury will acquit just because you call them a "kangaroo court". The fact that Trump doesn't say on the call to the victim "you are hereby extorted for the purpose of me getting re-elected", as you seem to demand, would not carry much weight with any but the most partisan of juries.
Trump was charged and impeached by the House. Then it went to the Senate to decide conviction. Even most of his allies in the Senate didn't argue that he was innocent . . . he clearly wasn't and even Mulvaney admitted that withholding the funds was probably illegal . . . they just argued that it wasn't big enough to remove him from office.
and then he has the new younger version of Kelly Anne... Kayleigh McEnany a bunch of Baghdad Bobs work in the Trump admin
Then why in hell are you so solidly but wrongly convinced that there was extortion when there was no -- as in zero, nada, zilch -- talk or hint of extortion or the 2020 election? It is easy to wave arms, rant, and proclaim, but a little harder to speak with rationality. My guess is that you have no problem with Biden's clear and self-admitted extortion.
Even if you act as if the transcript of a call in which he clearly extorts the President of Ukraine, the fact that you call "zero, nada, zilch" the testimony of the Ambassador to Ukraine, the ambassador to the EU, Trump's own national security advisor, ... well, so many witnesses... not to mention his obstruction of justice (which is definitely a "something") clearly shows desperation to excuse an obvious criminal. The statement that he would be defended by his followers even if he stood in the middle of 5th Ave and shot somebody was prophetic. They might even add it to the book of Prophecies.... Or maybe to "Two Corinthians". It was not Biden's "extortion". It was the U.S. government's, the EU's, NATO's... "extortion". Not only do I have no problem... I consider removing the prosecutor who refused to investigate companies like Burisma an accomplishment.
It was Biden via Biden the younger that was raking in the bucks for his expert advice on how to run a petroleum empire. Biden wasn't involved in the Burisma corruption and Epstein killed himself.
Any political observer with the sense God gave a rubber duck knows that the reason Trump was impeached had absolutely nothing to with the phone call and everything to do with the politics of the moment. Biden couldn't build anything with leggos and an instruction manual, let alone an economy. Or are you suggesting that once China Biden takes office we're going to to forget all about Carona the next day?
What you are going to forget the next day is that Trump was President when the pandemic was mishandled. You will blame it all on Biden and forget there ever was a President who attacks the agency in charge of dealing with it, who has been striving to hide the facts about the pandemic from people by lying about it every single day, who has failed to lead the country in taking the steps necessary to save lives (like following science), and who even promotes the spread of the virus by holding "covid parties" in the form of political rallies. That's what you'll forget.
