How does that matter though in his situation? He was fully restrained and no longer a threat to the Cops. If he was alive, charge him for resisting and move on. Don't keep your knee on his neck while he's saying he can't breathe while he is completely restrained.

He was discussing a person cooperating while being placed under arrest. That is not the same thing as whether or not someone is gladly wearing a mask. It actually isnt even the same thing as whether or not a person obeys an order to wear a mask. I sense that you are trying to set up a strawman argument.

No. The poster said if you follow orders and be a good Citizen, bad things won't happen to you. Being a good citizen is following our Governers orders and wear a mask when we go out. Do you agree?

Two separate issues. Resisting put him a confrontation with the police. Had that resisting not taken place, and he had got in the car as ordered, most likely he would be alive today.

The second issue was putting his knee on his neck and killing him. That was totally unnecessary.

I agree, resisting is stupid and never a good idea. But when the person is fully restrained, there is no need to do what those cops did. They need to be held accountable.

That is not what he said in the post in which you quoted him. In his explanation he very clearly said " if you resist an officer it will not end well". It did not say "if you follow orders and be a good citizen". You are clearly misparaphrasing his words.

Does it matter? I follow Cop's orders completely. I follow my Governor's orders ccompletely.I don't cry and complain about having to do so in both instances.

    How about you?

George Floyd was a repeat criminal.Arrested 9 times and jailed
4.Mostly for drugs. He had Fentanyl in his blood at the time of his death.
As proved by an Autopsy. He also died more from his compromised
condition { tested positive for Covid-19 } and with Fentanyl and Methamphetamine
    in his system { Arrested with a small pack of powder on his person }
he probably couldn't breathe due to that more than anything else.
The knee on his neck was not lethal. His compromised condition was.
Floyd was the perfect storm narrative for what the commies of BLM
were waiting for.It had Virtually Nothing to do with Police.
The proof.BLM was started over the perceived injustice of Trayvon
    Martin.No Police were involved.
From 2016 to just a couple months ago no BLM Protests over
    Police brutality.Explain that.
    No need.I just did.

Yes the distinction matters a great deal. They are not analogous in the slightest. One can absolutely be opposed and perhaps even crusade against laws that they oppose, and maybe even break that law. That is NOT even remotely the same thing as resisting arrest. If you are being arrested for a law that you think is unjust or unconstitutional etc, you will have your day in court to make that argument. Resisting arrest is a much different animal than whether or not you support a particular law. Few people are arguing that the Floyd cops were justified, but in the overwhelmingly vast majority of cases with people being killed by cops, their resistance is what justifiably put themselves in danger. It is essentially never a good idea for the person resisting except perhaps for the highly unlikely circumstance where the resistance leads to permanent escape. The advice to cooperate when being arrested is primarily for the benefit of the person being arrested.

None of this has anything to do with whether or not certain people support a certain law. Support or opposition for a law and cooperating when actually being arrested are not analogous in any manner, shape, or form.

I am sure that will all come up at the trial and it is likely the charges will be reduced. However, it will still come down to the cop holding his knee on his neck until he died. They might argue that he would have died anyway, but there will never be a way to prove it one way or the other. It will come down to simply should he have been held down by a knee on his neck. And the answer is clearly no.

    For what?

    He wasn't driving.

Neither of them needed to be arrested.

Floyd was suspected of passing a bad check. The one in Wendy's was driving while intoxicated.
He was in the drivers seat passed out. The car did not drive itself to Wendy's.

He passed out while in a Wendy's drive through. He could have tried to convince a jury that he did not drive there.
The thread needed a bit of context. Don't resist arrest and obey law enforcement's orders. It works the vast majority of the time.

The "vast majority of the time" isn't good enough.

One bad cop is too many.

    "obey law enforcement's orders"?

    ^Really?

How would you expect that to work out when some cops engage in their daily ritual of shaking down young women for sex during traffic stops?

You don't have perfection in any profession. There is no reason to expect it in the law enforcement profession.
Yes really. How else do you expect it to work?

It is generally recommended that if a woman has a policeman pull up behind her and turn on the emergency lights, to continue driving slowly to a we lighted location with other people around before stopping.

Asking an Inner city black to just obey a police command is like
asking one of Michael Vick's Killer Pit bulls to genufleck and take
a bow before each Dog Fight.

The "presumption of innocence" principle means that he doesn't need to convince a jury of crap!
