Pro tip - all uber partisans are pathetic people. They are destroying my country with their blind hatred of team-"other." It's really hard to take people like that seriously. All they do is look at a letter next to a name and their entire opinion is instantly formed. It must be exhausting to have to check the talking points before making up your mind about how you feel about something.

Not what I said and not what Texas is doing either, they are closed (Some) lobby and some are curbside, so you are holding steady at "Wrong" :)

And yes leftist states are mandating closure not red states as you originally suggested;)

It happens .. and the numbers were given - 1-4 per thousand who die from this are 50 ish.

I am not saying that this virus is not dangerous - this is about quantifying the risk and acting appropriately.

Not really - think it is about 1 in 5 once you are above 80 - can't remember if it is hospitalized or dead of top of head - but understanding that this makes a huge difference. You can go search that number out - since clearly you have not done the homework I have up to this point.

No offense intended - but 1) I do happen to be a research scientist 2) with a fair bit familiar with statistical science - as part of my job - numerous published papers - and even a few journal articles .. and in short - I do many of these calculations in my head just looking at the data .. and when I listen to reports I am looking for specific information - which I then do the calculations ..

Oh .. sorry .. I forgot 3) in the area of applied environmental microbiology - as in those bugs in your body that work to fight off the effect of the virus - which is the leading cause of death from this thing - that effect being Pneumonia.

This by no means makes me an expert in virology - but, I do understand the language - in terms of treating the effects of the virus - I am a quazi expert as this is part of my realm.

"PEDIATRICIANS SAY students should be in classrooms for in-person learning as soon as possible – the most full-throated endorsement yet for getting children back into schools amid the coronavirus pandemic and one that was included in a set of recommendations released by the American Academy of Pediatrics for how schools should safely reopen."

    Let's go with the science.

Why do we need to debate this. Just sample a few in Arizona or Florida.

Reopen schools with hours that don't F up getting to work in the morning nor getting home in the afternoon.

    Apparently it is for you.

I never suggested it was a red state event, as you suggested...
Below is what I originally stated...notice the word 'even'.
Your desperation for a gotcha moment is quite sad. Let me guess, you're going to keep going on and on and on down the rabbit hole because you can't stand to be wrong and aren't able to admit when you're wrong. Well...enjoy going down that hole by yourself.

The Key to avoiding Fascism is you figure out a way that secures the rights and privileges of as many as possible.

    i) Schools reopen.
ii) Parent not comfortable sending kids back, that child does distance learning.
iii) Teacher not comfortable returning to the classroom, let that teacher be the one who teaches the distance learning.

I wouldn't worry about it, perhaps one day your vocabulary will expand. Meantime, maybe you can find something useful to do with your time until school starts in next month.

Just wow. Even if COVID 19 is rarely fatal to kids, they will carry it to their friends and their friends will carry it to their families, thus significantly multiplying the spread of the virus. Any more brilliant questions?

Our refusal to open up safely and therefore ensure wave after wave of infections is what will burn the economy to the ground.

Sounds amateurish to me. Because you make the assumption to be an uber partisan is not to have your beliefs based in fact. Many on this board, perhaps including yourself, consider me an uber partisan. Find something I've written that is not fact based.

Here's an op-ed written by conservatives you need to consider.

Gretchen Whitmer is done after this term as Michigan governor. We will not tolerate petty dictators.

Trump pushing states to open early caused this spike
