Sen. Tammy Duckworth responds after Tucker Carlson suggests she hates America

Nah, she'll just weasel out of it and refuse to elaborate any further on her tacit support for the statue destroyers and leftist riot mobs.

There are politicians(Democrats) that have based their entire careers on spouting leftist lunacy, and refusing to defend any of their nonsense.

How about you proving your premise that a sitting senator is too gutless to defend her views, when all any senator does is talk about and debate their views - literally every where they go! You might have to give up on this notion that Tucker Carlson is the one and only way everyone has to prove it.

I disagree that we can't judge people in the past using the lens of today. I think we can use the history of that time to provide context and allow for some understanding and grant some leniency, but as you mention MLK, sure, he should be criticized for his treatment of women. But that doesn't mean that we should tear down his statutes or add an asterick or anything, but we can recognize the limitations of him as a man and learn from the mistakes made by even the greatest of people. Some other individuals, like many of those Confederate Statutes, do not deserve the Statutes built in their honor.

But here's the thing - you and I are having that conversation. The same conversation that Tammy Duckworth spoke about which prompted that chicken **** little ****er Tucker Carlson to claim that she hates America. I very much do not believe that you hate America because you are willing to even engage in the conversation and I very, very much hope that you will not question my patriotism either. And I have not lost limbs in the service of this country like Tammy Duckworth has done.

 

Stop with that lost limb stuff. One day you people are [urinating] on soldiers coming home from Vietnam. The next day (figuratively speaking) you are using someone's war injuries as a sign of divinity.

Tucker Carlson is fighting a war for America. A modern war which is an information war and a war of perception management. I can't properly respond to your slurs against him due to forum rules (sorry to say). People like him are are defending their country far more than someone like Duckworth ever did -- who in a disgusting way now dog whistles to modern commies and seeks to destroy our Second Amendment.

I find it ironic that conservatives right now are savaging a highly decorated veteran senator, by saying that just because you are a vet doesn't mean we can't have at you WHILE defending historical miliatry figures as if they were absolutely sacrosanct and questioning their validity and credentials is just despicable.

 

I wish Condoleeza could get the job. She is perfectly suited other than her voter registration..... With Obama as Secretary of State we can create the most miraculous merciful governement for progress that.. quite frankly.. nobody has ever seen the likes of before..

Ironically, the modern day version of someone "pissing on Vietnam" soldiers are people like Tucker Carlson who never served and just said that a sitting US Senator who lost her limbs in service of this nation is someone who hates America simply because she is willing to have a conversation about statute removal? Or, in your mind, because she wants to impose more gun control legislation?

That is not fighting a war for America, nor is it defending their country. It is cloaking oneself in a wholly fabricated veil of supremacy just so you don't need to discuss the merits of the arguments and can pretend that the country is better off under your political ideology than that of your political opponent.

I never thought that being a veteran shielded you from criticism, and being a veteran does not mean that you may not also be an ******* (i think there are enough posters on PF to make that point), but lets remember the long history of people on fox news, for example, who used to think that just being a veteran gave you carte blanche and who used to think the 'character matters'. Trump dodged the draft and Slow Joe Biden dodged the draft - both on fake medical reasons. The Democrats could have gotten behind James Webb (2 Navy Crosses) in 2016 if military service actually mattered to them.
