How’s that working for China? They spit in the face of international law and steal IP from EVERYONE. Being a part of a corrupt UN who puts the most vile humans on earth on human rights committees is a joke.

Bejing Biden doesn't think that China is a big deal...

Just say it a few times and the media will wash, rinse and repeat.

Well, considering the framers were completely against the idea of surrendering US sovereignty to any global governing power, what you say isn't a bad thing but an excellent thing for the US.

Certainly the UN will not accept the dues of such a Nation! errr, right?

Solemani was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans and American-allies and thousands wounded in the region. Any military operative that commits war against the US is subject to US military response at the time and place of our choosing. May the world wisely take notice.

Soleimani was orchestrating attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad through Iranian-backed militias just days before he was killed. The not so bright now dead guy thought he was dealing with Obama/Hillary/Benghazi and soon found himself melting into the asphalt before he could murder more Americans.

Cool! Then take your ball and go home. But we know you won't do it because you can't survive on your own.

You think the world's leading economy can't survive on its own, once we stop feeding the Europeans? It's the opposite, the Europeans are dead weight, and have been for quite some time to even where Obama chippered at the EU.

We would love to disregard these parasites, who've sucked the US economy dry and left its citizens to suffer.

    you're being silly now.
Europe doesn't need you. They trade with you, but they don't need you. Especially when it comes to food. They hate your gm food. Most of your top scientists and innovators are foreign born. Americans can't even compete in academia. The only thing you have is money and if the rest of the world decides to drop the US$ you'll go back to be what you were destined to be, a country devoid of any worth culturally.

If Congress was capable of making decisions in a timely manner then I would agree. Given the current state of Congress we absolutely did not have time for them to sit around and "debate" about this for who knows how long. We also didn't have time for the news to start publishing breaking news articles headlined "Trump meeting with Congressional leaders to discuss actions against top Iranian upstanding world peace seeking General (terrorist)". It's CNN, since Trump wanted it then the bad guy would have automatically become Ghandi according to CNN...

Nope, we don't have time for that partisan crap that we all KNOW would have come from one side of the aisle and let this opportunity slip away.

The guy was a state sponsored terrorist directly responsible for coordinating dozens of attacks resulting in the deaths of countless US troops.

He walked outside and we turned him into a smoking crater in the Iraqi dirt with or without Iraq or Pelosi's permission. We told them about it AFTER it was done which is exactly how this should have played out given the current ultra partisan garbage climate in Washington. There is no "discussion" required when it comes to turning terrorists into fertilizer yet "discuss" they would have for way too long and this guy would have made it safety back into Iran to plan more attacks against Americans abroad.

As far as Russia is concerned they should get the same treatment. If we find out exactly who it was putting hits on US Soldiers then we Fedex those folks a special delivery tank buster missile to the forehead too the second we see any of them step foot outside of Russia.

To hell with the notion that terrorists are only free game when they are actively doing something wrong at that very moment.

Kudos to Obama for giving Pakistan the middle finger and chasing terrorists across that border with drones and kudos to Trump for blowing this guy to pieces. And kudos to both of them in those particular regards for having the fortitude to do what is right for America and not care about what the rest of the world has to say about it.

This sort of policy is absolutely necessary when combating terrorism. Let these folks know that there are no "green zones" or out of bounds areas. If we catch you outside you're getting a Hellfire missile with your name on it.

Soleimani knew exactly who he was and exactly what he has done. America currently has forces in Iraq and US troops at the damn airport this guy was at yet he still had the gall to show up there believing that he was "off limits". Let this be a very clear message to the next person who thinks they can kill Americans then walk up to us and smile in our face believing we can't hurt you because of who you are.

    Good job Trump
    Get over it UN

It is with the utmost respect that I say: how on earth is this a reasonable mentality WRT an organization that represents billions of people?

This right here is exactly the kind of "hoo ra American Cowboyism" that bolsters China and Russia's actions on the world stage.

I'm not disputing that the US had a reasonable argument to take him out, but this reasoning is infantile.

disagree, obama violated a sovereign country that was not under US occupation.

his foreign policy was similar to an african warlord since nuclear powers like russia were watching.

it is infantile only because of the reasoning with obama's foreign policy

President Trump only violates the sovereignty of nations that the US own's free and clear.

This reasoning stems from America getting tired of being the worlds punching bag while simultaneously doing more for the world than any other nation. America reduces our carbon footprint per capita more than anyone else and we are bashed on the world stage for not doing more. We give more foreign aid than any other nation. We fund over a quarter of the UN and nearly 70% of NATO yet when we declare war many of our own allies refuse to step up. We get criticized for having the audacity to discontinue trade deals that are widely lopsided in the other party's favor. We get criticized for having the audacity to strike our enemies without asking permission from these alliances and organizations that WE fund in a massively disproportionately way. We get criticized for wishing to secure our borders by nations who themselves have EXTREMELY strict immigration policies that put ours to shame.

America takes a massively disproportionate amount of crap from the rest of the world for some reason and it's getting tiresome. I can't even remember the last time I read a world news headline that stated something like "America praised for doing X". We aren't perfect by any means but we do A LOT for the world. There are 3 world powers and 1 superpower, even with as much flak as we get NOBODY wants either of those other two nations to take our place and they know it.

So I apologize if it sounds rude but no I don't believe America should be asking permission from anybody to do what is in our best interests as a nation such as taking out a top terrorist responsible for killing our citizens. And I'm glad we don't ask permission nor forgiveness for doing something like this. The rest of the world is allowed to take care of themselves and put their nation as top priority in their eyes from foreign policy to border security to national security to economic growth. But when America does that we make the negative headline on the front page of foreign newspapers talking about what we are doing over here.

We can play politics and debate and all of that on the world stage in regards to policy or trade deals or climate change or whatever. Because yeah I am fully aware why we are the ones footing the disproportionate bill for these organizations we have more money than other nations. However, when it comes to certain things like taking out terrorists then we have the right to start pulling out that veto card. We'll play "fair" with some things and sit at the table and discuss issues as equal partners in the world but sometimes we have every right to stand up and move to the head of the table because at the end of the day we DO pay way more money into these "equal" organizations than everybody else.

disagree with this reasoning, America cannot willy nilly take out terrorists in sovereign nations.

violating canada's sovereignty is different than say russia or china, for example china has used a biological weapon against America and it appears okay at the moment.

Yup, because Pakistan is an American "ally" who was letting terrorists kill our troops then run across their border to safety. We told them to either do something about it or we will with our without their permission as a sovereign allied nation.

They didn't do anything about it so we did...No nation on the face of this planet would appreciate it if their troops were being killed by terrorists and the nation next to it was letting them run across their border to safety. Any other nation on this planet would do the same thing we did if they had the ability to do so.

Yeah well we just did so....America also can't just invade a sovereign nation for no real reason and grab their leader and give him to the mob to be hanged but we sort of did that too. I didn't agree with that one but we sort of did it.

Plus we got Soleimani in Iraq not Iran, we rebuilt Iraq twice (although we destroyed it for no reason in the first place but thats a different story) so yeah we definitely aren't asking Iraq for permission if we can whack the guy in their country.

It set an excellent precedent. The US and Pakistan are allies, our enemies are their enemies. Our enemies were killing our troops and running across their border to safety and our ally was allowing them to not only do that but helping them hide. That is unacceptable on every level, we had every right to chase them down across the border and show them that the Pakistani border is no longer a safe haven. We gave Pakistan 25 BILLION dollars in aid as our "ally". How much money has Pakistan given the United States as an ally? Yet they pulled that crap on us.

Good job Obama. We should absolutely disrespect any "ally" of ours who disrespects us like that.

these terrorists come from poop hole countries like pakistan and africa, they have to respect US sovereignty overseas.

the US is a first world civilised country with the superior military, and does not have to respect their sovereignty.

What does it matter? The UN can't do anything while the US has veto power. Its one of the most pointless organizations in the world, but the US should not leave while we are still on the permanent security council. Otherwise who knows what commies and Eurotrash would do with it...
