He was convicted for lying to both investigators and to Congress, not simply for "not being candid." You can defend Stone or you can criticize the swamp. You can't rationally do both.

Utah will go to Trump again. By a larger margin. Your point being?

none of that happened. law and order is about what is fair and just.

Stone was targeted after a hoax investigation was started about a russian conspiracy when all the parties knew in 2016 didn’t exist.

There were 7 counts against him. No, not all of those were for lying to Congress (which, by the way, is also a felony). He lied to more than just Congress. He was charged. He was tried. He was convicted. The DOJ interfered, but even that wasn't enough, so now Trump jumps in to protect the guy who refused to flip on him. Yeah, sounds perfectly legit

Sorry, but investigators were not candid about his whole story.

Congress has made several referrals on FBI, DOJ, and other Obama administration officials. We will only find out how bad it was when Trump wins in November.

All of that happened. All of it. And you know it.

Stone was convicted of 7 charges. He will now no longer face the minimum punishment for those charges -- the charges you and I would be subject to if we did the same. This convicted multi-felon will now not serve any time at all. I guess publicly telling Trump that you "refused to flip" on him has its advantages.

He lied. Several times. In situations where lying is a felony. He tried threatening a witness to silence him. The fact that this offends you won't stop it from remaining a fact.

I'm sure the law-hating thug still has a good chance of winning in November, but that's no cause for celebration.

He also lied to FBI investigators. Not just Congress. You were on the right track.

I feel your pain. The Republican party which I have both opposed and respected has disappeared.

    none of it happened

we would never had been charged as we weren’t associated with trump and targeted in the hoax russian conspiracy probe

i have no problem with him being convicted at this point because he was less rhe candid with congress...but deserves no jail time. The Mueller’s team guijdelines were way out of line...even the judge knew that and ignored them and cut them in half

I've always voted for both, depending on the situation, as well as for third party. But, yes, the things I did respect about the GOP are all gone at this point. They only thing remaining with the party of Trump is that sometimes they show restraint with excessive military interventionism, but even that's a coin flip. They no longer care (and I'm starting from the assumption that they cared at all, which could be wrong) about limited government or fiscal conservatism. Those were the main things that attracted me to them in the past.

We basically now have Pat Buchanan on steroids. The traditional GOP is in hiding.

Literally all of it did. And you know that.

He was in communication with known Russian intelligence assets and publicly talked about having advance knowledge of leaks . . . while also trying to negotiate for the politically-convenient timing of those leaks. Again, these are all now known facts that he lied about, in addition to threatening a witness to get him to remain silent to.

He lied to both Congress and the FBI on multiple occasions. You are standing in opposition to even the minimum legal consequences for these actions.

The DOJ had already prepared recommendations. Then Trump's political protector stepped in to try to get the sentence reduced below the minimum . . . leading to the attorneys in charge of the case resigning in protest. Even that wasn't good enough. Now a multi-felon will walk free.

the guiidelinws were incorrect and the bosses agreed...the judge agreed too apparently.

he might walk free depending on the appeal...he hasn’t yet. He’s a convicted felon at this point

Being compared to McCain is quite the honor. But then, what would you know about honor?

Stone lied about trying to work with Wikileaks and not telling about his trips, and about his contacts. Thats a VERY long way from "not being candid about a meeting". You also casually leave out that he was found guilty of witness tampering. Not only did he lie, he tried to get others to lie for him AND for the president. Thats a HUGE omission by those trying to justify this pardon.

EVERYONE knew the Russians didn't hack the DNC server. They used phishing attacks ta access Democratic emails. It WAS the russians, but minimizing the methods used in no way minimizes the what they did.

Pretty funny all these former Clinton & Obama supporters are crying foul.

Clinton pardoned Marc Rich who was still on the lamb for tax evasion, money laundering and racketeering.

    Obama pardoned almost 2,000 people.
How many of them were white?
