Well, the bottle of cocktail onions showed up at a pot luck lunch we had and kept them in her desk drawer after the event. A drinking buddy of hers from Tech Pubs would come to see her every afternoon and they were seen sipping from the onion jar. I wondered how the thing never seemed to be running out juice, but finally figured it out Boozers can go to great length to get their fix. Just glad I never got hooked on the stuff.

Found a use for those nasty cloudy ice cubes. Mmmmm, nice.

Won't find me touching Gin.Or Rum.
Vodka is The King of Mixers. But It is hard to drink straight.
Like real hard.It wasn't until about 15 years ago I could drink
vodka and enjoy on the rocks.
Much has changed in the word of Hard Liquor.
Vodka and Bourbon have gone bananas.Way too many new
distillers.Which only drove up the price.
I read somewhere that Vodka is the most efficient of all hard
Liquor.Meaning it goes to work the fastest and also rids itself
    from the body,the quickest.

I'm back up to having two plants to plant!

Thuja "Mr. Bowling Ball" will go on either side of my sidewalk steps.

I did see the comet last night. Boy, was that a struggle! It didn't get dark enough, here at the shores of. Findley Lake, until almost 11:00. Then, I was nuts enough to set the alarm for 3:00 this morning.

I turned it off and went back to sleep.

Oh , how nice of you to think about my ponds and stuff. But honestly, I don't add anything to water to make it clear. Except plants. Plants use the chemicals in the water to feed themselves. My green water problem was from cyanobacteria ... a green round thing that gets so thick in the water it turns to pea soup. Under the microscope you can see the individual cells. So here's what happened. .... I built my first pond out of cement block and cement, and sand , cement , and water. I then covered it with Drylok paint. I let it sit in the sun and then filled with water. Then I put in my test goldfish and got catfish fingerlings. This was in the fall and I fed the fish in cool weather and they didn't eat the food. Come Spring.... Pea soup. Finally had to drain the pond and start over.

My camera died a long long time ago. It's almost impossible to hold a cellphone camera up to an eyepiece. I wasn't really up for dragging a telescope outside anyway.

The comet looked about like this, through binoculars; only about half as bright.

So I went to the river and dug up some bog plants and bought some Pickeral Rush. I filled a big pool ... about a thousand gallons just for plants. Then I finally decided to go with a pond liner for a filter pond. It has minnows, crawdads, and goldfish. And lots plants. Plants feed crayfish and filter the water. Clear water is a symbiotic relationship.

I also use rocks in my ponds as a biological medium. I even have a 5 gallon bucket full of rocks that I am using as a filter. An air stone pulls water through the rocks. Holes in the bucket pulls water from the pond into the bucket. Pretty simple really. But I need another air pump. The rocks change the waste from nitrites to nitrates. The plants eat the end product starving simple organisms like cyanobacteria. ...... Or sumthin like that.

Our whole pond is cover with a growth of some kind..looks like a smaller version of dollar weed. This has never happened before our pond has always been fairly clear until this year.

Is that some relative to Silver Dollar disease.A Grass fungus.
I learned of that back in 1972 during my summer break from college.
I worked all summer for a Landscaping outfit.Mostly cutting lawn.
We used Jakes { Orange Jacobsen lawn movers }.Used for Golf
    Courses.Reel mowers.They pull really hard.So hard you could hook-up
a sulky and sit and cut lawn.Silver dollar is brown spot the size of a
silver dollar appearing on lawns. One of my Grass cutting mentors musta
used the term silver dollar at least once a week.
